My overall experience at 131 Main was really good! This was my first time dining here, and the service was excellent from start to finish. For an appetizer, I tried the Ahi Tuna, it was very flavorful, and the presentation was beautiful. For my entrée, I had the shrimp and grits, which was a solid 10/10, absolutely delicious! My partner ordered the double-cut pork chop. While the presentation was nice, he was a bit disappointed. The mashed potatoes were plain and lacked flavor, and since the pork chop was very thick, the center was also a bit flavorless. That said, there were several other menu items that caught my eye, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to try them. I also loved discovering their Chef’s Bar, where you can sit right in front of the kitchen and watch the food being prepared, that’s where I’ll be sitting next time! Overall, a great experience, and I’m excited for my next visit.
I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday dinner here on 11/24. Our server, Johnny, was AMAZING! Hands down the best service I’ve ever had. Our dishes consisted of skillet cornbread, Caesar salad, ribeye with loaded potatoes, shrimp and grits and a crab cake. The cornbread was really good, which surprised us both. I did not love the caesar dressing, but everything else was good. My steak was originally delivered well done when I requested medium. Johnny and the manager ( I believe her name was Asia) immediately got this corrected and I had a delicious steak in no time! The brownie dessert was also amazing! Overall, we had a great experience and would not hesitate to return and try other menu items.
We drove into Ashville last night for dinner and to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. I had her choose (of course) and boy did this place not disappoint. We did get very lucky with finding seats at the bar when we got there as it is first come first serve and the main floor was booked out until after 8 pm. In other words call ahead early and make a reservation in the morning or day before! The bartenders were EXTREMELY attentative and very sweet. Fast with the drinks and the food came out within minutes. I got the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection at medium rare and super juicy. My girlfriend got the ribs and they were fall off the bone with plenty of flavor. We enjoyed every aspect of our experience there and they even added the candle to her peanut butter pie. 10/10 would come back here again and will be at the top of our recommendation list to those traveling through or to Ashville.
I had dinner there last night for my birthday with my 2 besties. The food was great, atmosphere good, they pay attention to details very well. My waiter, I think her name was Tori, she was fantastic!
This was by far our favorite place dining while visiting Asheville nc. The food and service was top notch we were very impressed and will definitely go here again in the future. We started with the cast iron corn bread which was so delicious we ordered one to take home also. I had the barrel cut filet with the crabcake and they were so delicious I couldn't even believe how good they were. The mustard sauce paired so well with the crabcake. And my filet was cooked to perfection. My partner had the roasted chicken and was as pleased with his choice as was i. Paul was our server and was professional and helpful when it came to ordering. He provided great service and did not disappoint.
Cassandra was our server today. She is awesome. She directed us to great options from the menu. To start the meal, we chose the smoked salmon with crackers. Great. Then we had the salad, with an assortment of their house made dressings, which were all great. The fish of the day was a perfectly grilled halibut with a garlic butter sauce, which was excellent. ..we came back the next night for dinner. Morgan was our server. Excellent. All the staff are attentive and friendly. The whole dining experience was wonderful.
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and we were impressed by every aspect. We were lucky enough to get seating in the bar but I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, and the bartenders were very attentive and sweet. Asia even gave me a warm towelette for my fingers since I ordered the ribs. I highly recommend this place!
I see why 131 Main continues to be a staple of Biltmore Park. We walked in after work around 530pm on a weeknight and were promptly seated at the bar with no wait. Service is where 131 Main truly shines - their staff is ON IT. You can tell they maintain their staff/don’t have a lot of turnover - the prevalence of regular patrons speaks to this. Despite a staff change, the new bartender/server knew what my drink was and offered another. Food was consistent and tasty, all of the main staple options available.
