Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon to check the place out. The service was exceptional. I was a bit hungry and ordered the chicken fried steak, with mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was delicious. This could be my new hangout.

Really cool restaurant with awesome service and wonderful food. The service was above and beyond. They really wanted to make sure I was taken care of and that I was happy with the food but not in an annoying way. For example, they put the dressing on the salad out of the kitchen and the waiter was concerned that it was enough or not. The waiter noticed my fries were not being eaten and took it up on herself to bring some fry sauce. I had steak bites and the meat was marinated and tender. The marinade is subtly sweet compared to bites in other restaurants in town. They have a couple different options for the bites and I got mine with garlic butter. Great place. The sign said they were now doing breakfast too.

I wanted to come here weeks ago for the BLT, but couldn't. I didn't pass up the chance today. I had the crayfish boil. What a mighty bowl it was! The Cajun sauce was definitely on point. I love hot stuff so, it could have been a little more spicy for me. I also had the warm bread, with butter and a side of the lemon pesto. The baguette was definitely warm, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I think I had 2 black berry ginger drinks, you know it was good I had 2!!. I'm glad it wasn't many patrons when I visited, I ate in peace lol. Love the gaming feel the restaurant gives. And I love love a clean bathroom! Plus they had some lotion in there as well. I like the look of the bathroom, very different. I'll be back!!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great owners. Five stars for the French onion burger, five stars for the Bantam, five stars for the Loaded Onion Rings. Two stars for the Gochujang Wrap! If you want a slightly spicy, very sweet chicken wrap it's for you. It's not authentic Gochujang though. I still loved the whole experience and would definitely recommend this place as one of the better places to eat in the valley!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) “Refined comfort and small-town hospitality done right” Hayes House is the kind of restaurant that surprises you — not because it’s flashy or loud, but because it nails every detail quietly and confidently. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense of calm and care in the space. The décor strikes that perfect balance between historic charm and modern polish — warm lighting, thoughtful table settings, and a layout that invites conversation rather than noise. The food was phenomenal. My entrée (a perfectly seared cut of salmon) came out fresh, plated beautifully, and seasoned like the chef actually understands restraint — balanced flavors, not overdone. The sides were equally thoughtful, and even the bread and butter had that homemade, “we actually care” touch that’s becoming rare. Service was dialed in from start to finish. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and timed everything perfectly — no awkward waits, no rush. You could tell they’ve been trained to take pride in what they do, and it shows. Hayes House feels like the kind of place where you can take your family for a special occasion or unwind with a quiet date night and know you’ll be taken care of. It’s elegant without being pretentious, refined without losing its roots. If you’re anywhere near Clarkston, make a reservation here. It’s easily one of the best dining experiences in the valley — consistent, classy, and run by people who clearly take pride in their craft.

I've tried every country fried steak for breakfast in town. This one was the best. The peppercorn sausage gravy was legit and the steak was hand breaded. Their country browns are a ton better than shredded hashbrowns too. The service was slow but the server was by herself and no other help.

We went on a Friday night. They were busy but we were seated immediately & served water promptly. We didn't have any cocktails but they have a bar area & they carried cider. I had their house smash burger & my wife had a grinder. Both were good. Not oh wow that was amazing. Our whole experience was good. Will we return? Maybe. It's possible. There was nothing extraordinary that would bring us back, but there was nothing off-putting that would drive us away. Ok, their fries were pretty good. I remember when I got my first Lexus. It was a glorified Camry that we put a lot of miles on & served us well. This restaurant was like the Camry, and there's nothing wrong with that.
