10/10 would recommend the Blue Hound! We came on an Open Mic night. The food was delicious! I got the shirmp and grits and my wife got the chicken and waffles. There were so many options. Also, the energy of the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. I've truly never been to a place like it.
This is our go to restaurant whenever we come to a show at Ivovyton Playhouse. The upstairs is the bar. The restaurant is at lower level. It has a family style cozy vibe. The cruise is a combination of Italian with southern infusion. During our very recent visit, I tried their grilled salmon garnished with coconut flakes. It was delicious. Our friends also loved their food, especially the spicy food. The complementary cornbread was soft and fluffy. The service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend!
First time here, went for dinner before a local show and found this a very pleasant establishment. Choose either the upstairs tap room or downstairs cookery (we chose the tap room). The food is a cut above your typical pub grub. We had the chicken jerk and the portobello sandwich both of which were great - followed by key lime pie and flourless chocolate torte - and accompanied by a very decent IPA. Great service, ambience - thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back if in the area and in the mood!
This was our first visit and won't be our last. Pay attention to the schedule for the Ivoryton Playhouse. The staff states it can get really busy. Reservations are suggested. There are three places to dine. Upstairs in the tap room, downstairs or outside. The food was fantastic. The jambalaya has a few heat levels. I went with hot on the suggestion of the waitress. Boudin sausage balls for an appetizer. Great beer list.
Blue Hound.. there are two parts to this place the Cookery and the Taproom. We ate at the Cookery for lunch. It was OK food wise. I will have to go back to further sample the food and update this review. The wine and beer selections were great. The service was quick and plesant.
Great Cajun and southern food, friendly service, well priced. Have told many about the food, as it's a place worth returning too. Planning to return soon.
The great reviews have merit. We ate at both restaurants - the Tap Room during the summer and The Blue Hound during the winter. The Tap Room has a hang out vibe with a smaller menu and a larger craft beer menu. There's even a shuffle board table. The Blue Hound is downstairs and a bit smaller. They only take reservations for parties of 5 or more. It's very casual with great service. I had the shrimp and cheddar grits and it was full of wonderful flavors. Dessert was bananas foster - yum!
Great find in Ivoryton. Friendly barkeep. Excellent craft draft beer selection. Not only do they have darts but shuffle board too. Looking forward to a return visit for foodie.
