This place has been there for years ,and I'm not afraid to say it will be for many more , the reason is powerful and simple ,they sell high quality Mexican sweet bread , and even flour tortillas fresh made at the spot, awesome cakes, and all of that at a low convenient price, you'll never go broke celebrating someone's birthday or treating them to some yummy pastry, even all Spanish people know that this is the place to hit to get your fix of coffee and bread in a budget or for the taste, kudos to these guys who still know how to roll and save you dough
My family loves the bread, we've always bought our pan dulce here. The only thing is that my younger siblings were disappointed that the pig looked more like a armadillo to them I still see Hamm (Pig from toy story).
It's a nice and clean little bakery where you can get fresh baked breads and dessert. Staff is very helpful. EBT accepted. Have two tables and chairs out front to enjoy a snack with a friend on a beautiful afternoon.
When I visited La Perla Tapatia Bakery, I was reminded of the times when my grandmother sent me to panaderias to bring back bolillos and conchas. The interior of the bakery has aisles filled with a variety of breads. One thing that caught my attention was the display of bolillos piled in a glass box, just like I remember from my grandmother's local panaderia in Mexico. The bakery also offers a selection of coffee, jell-O, along with other tempting pastries, cakes, and breads that I didn't recognize. I believe they might be from different regions of Mexico, which makes me even more curious to try them. For those who may not be familiar, here's a fun fact about "tapatías": Tapatía is a colloquial term used to refer to someone from Guadalajara, Mexico. So, perhaps La Perla Tapatia Bakery is like a little taste of Guadalajara right in this neighborhood(?) The combination of cleanliness, welcoming atmosphere, and classic Mexican breads adds to the overall positive experience at La Perla Tapatia Bakery. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking to try something new and immerse themselves in flavors of a Mexican-style bakery.
I stop by here whenever I want some Mexican pastry, the bread tastes good and around the first week of January you can find the 3 Kings bread. The people are friendly and they have also milk, flan and other things.
Large selection, no wait, and extremely affordable prices (my plate of pastries was like $5.10). I know Pan Artesnal is the one everyone goes for, and they are supposedly the best, but they had a solid hour wait I didn't have time for. The staff was kind and their selection was wide. I should have heated these up at my place. They would have been even better warm.
If you need a cake on short notice, this is the place! They have cakes ready for pick up or you can place an order the day before. I've done both and have not been disappointed. The cakes here are always fresh and very delicious and at a price you cannot beat. They offer the basics, so nothing too fancy or creative, but in a bind, they do just fine.
very good pan mexicano also love that I can taste other latino pan dulce as well!
