Brought friends from Washington state to try the Best Smash burgers out there. They were truly impressed to the great taste and service. Thanks Dan for some really good food. We'll be back soon!
Dan's Road House Smashburgers are honestly the best burger I've had anywhere. The buns are made locally and toasted! The burgers are flavorful and juicy, with quality cheese on both layers. The burger comes wrapped, hot and ready to eat with your choices of lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onions, and a pickle. It's so delicious! The service is friendly, and everything is kept up very well!
Stopped at Dan's Road House in Cresco today for a quick lunch. I had heard about the Smash Burgers. Dan himself waited on me. To sum up my first time at Dan's...OUTSTANDING! I will be back many times.
Stopped in today traveling and happened to find this place. So glad we stopped. Said they made top 10 best burger in Iowa. Id say they top that list. Awesome smash burgers! 3 things on menu is awesome burgers, chicken tenders for kids and mini tacos. What else does a guy need.
We stopped for a quick bite on the way home pulling a camper. Lots of parking available at 1pm a block down. This local bar only has 4 options for food, but the smash burger was delicious. Will definitely stop again.
Stayed and ate at Dan's a couple of weeks ago via Harvest Hosts. We're headed back this weekend because the experience was simply outstanding. Great people, great food... like walking back in time when our country and the world was kinder and more people focused on quality and service. So many companies and restaurants cutting back on product quality due to inflation. Not Dan... my wife and I felt like it was the first time we've tasted a hamburger since our childhood days. Prices have been kept very affordable. In our opinion.. worth a several hour drive to experience Dan's plus the broader Cresco downtown (eg Cresco Theater, local shops, bakery, grocery store, parks, etc etc). ps - Dan took time away from making Smash Burgers to talk with my wife and I. He's a wonderful human being... and his staff is the same.
We headed to Dan’s Road House in Cresco, IA, so I could experience my first ever smash burger. Take two never frozen Iowa hamburger and smash ‘em while cooking and then place them on a fresh bun made at the town’s bakery and you have a ‘damn good’ burger. Add fresh veggies-tomatoes, lettuce, onions-and a side of skinny fries and you have a full meal. Yummy! The cheese curds dipped in ranch dressing were delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable and fun to talk to as was his son, Dan, the owner, who came to check on us. We will be back.
