I live in Buffalo but I drive down on occasion just to have a drink, enjoy great company, and of course, the wings. There are so many great things to say about The Swamp. The owner Stephanie is on top of her game. She has the best knowledgeable staff on what to order and their selections are spot on. When you order you can expect a blast of flavor in each bite. Down to earth people from the owner to the patrons. ALWAYS A GREAT TIME!! Highly recommend.
First time eating at The Swamp, we LOVED the wings (Benny and Swamp wing flavors), the juke box, and the excellent service! We also got the most adorably fitting t-shirts! Definitely recommend a stop by The Swamp! Tell Benny we sent you!! (Cinci Emily and Canada Mike!)
Wing snob here. I have a favorite place to eat wings back home and these BLOW theirs away. I’ve tried 5 flavors and want to try all of them. Next time!
So, The Swamp is something of a legend here in our area. It's a long time bar that is located in a wetlands area near Chautauqua Lake. It's an area that experiences flooding on a fairly regular basis, and as a result, this restaurant / bar has had to install pallets leading up to its entrance to ensure that it's patrons can get in without getting their feed excessively wet! The Swamp is rumored to be some of the best wings in the Jamestown area so we decide to head on down and take a chance on them. They weren't very busy on the Sunday that we were there but the person behind the bar was very attentive and we got our drinks pretty quickly. After that our orders for wings were put in and there were a number of flavors to choose from. The majority of us got medium wings or hot wings, and one got the pan-fried wings. When the wings came out the sauces were all very good. The pan-fried wings are somewhat different; as they are blackened and then covered in a very black almost molasses sauce. That sauce had some heat to it and an interesting taste. All in all, I don't know that they are the best wings I've ever had but I have to say they certainly were not the worst and they could be an option in case I ever wanted to order wings on my way to the house. A good experience to a local "legend". I would encourage you to check it out sometime for either the wings, the experience, or both!
lol definitely one of the most Florida vibes bar I’ve ever found in PA/NY. I’m from Erie and was passing through. Def glad I did. Super vibey lil dive bar. The wings were delicious. I got kickin bourbon. Good mix of sweet heat. Also pickle spears. Nice and chunky. Shawna was cool and down to earth holding it down bartending and making wings. lol unfortunately it was monsoon pouring so the back patio was off limits and pretty swampy. So I couldn’t see it. I think it was pretty pricey at $28 for 10 wings, pickle spears and one beer. But they were def good. I just think they should have prices listed. The menu is a plastic stansion with paint pen lol. But overall it was a great vibe. Cool locals to chat with. Good vibes so can’t complain. Glad I popped through. Just know there’s not a lot of room and I’m sure they get swamped with orders lol. Def enjoyed them having touch tunes and cranking it loud! Played some CCR and Petty. Seemed fitting. Hope to come back through. Also, the wings I got weren’t pan fried. They only deep fried them. Apparently it’s a timely and exhaustive process. So ya gotta request it. Also just as a heads up, it does have a bit of a funky smell. I mean as others mentioned it is a swamp lol so don’t expect the ritz Carlton or your local fancy wing bar.
The wings were excellent as they were rumored to be, but that’s pretty much it when it comes to food. They do have a tournament size pool table, which was nice. There are no beers on draft which is unfortunate. Parking is tight and limited.
The Benny and mafia wings were absolutely delicious
stopped here for lunch on a Friday while in the area for a work trip. Cool little place with good food, good beers and a laidback atmosphere. the “Mmmmafia” wings were really good but the pan-fried wings were some of the best I’ve had in quite a while! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.
