2026-01-03 Stopped for a bite to eat before leaving Winnipeg. Parking was very open. Dining room empty and quiet. Service was excellent and the food was pretty decent. I'd come back. I feel like it was pricey, but that's most places these days
I’ve eaten here twice and both were really good, the food was perfect and abundant portions. With my family we had the Legendary BBQ feast and EVERYTHING tasted delicious. I will come back. Prices are right and Emalee did a wonderful service.
Really good experience. Food came out fast and portions were generous. Jane was one of the best servers i’ve had in a long time - super attentive and kind. She was the only server on and handling a lot of tables but managed everything incredibly well. You can tell she cares a lot about her job and her guests.
It was my second time here and the best thing about this restaurant has always been the incredible service! Our server was friendly, efficient and was always around to check on us and bring drink refills. The Baby Back-N-Meat had amazing flavours as always but was a tad bit tough for me, the Georgia Chopped Pork was just too sour so I didn’t enjoy it at all, the Cheesy Mac and Cheese and Corn Bread were both excellent. Not bad for the price point but if you’re looking tor a fall-off-the-bone ribs, you won’t find it here. It was another good dining experience!
We were in last night with a group of approx 35 for a Retirement. Sat Dec 6\25 Just want to send a Huge shout out for our waiter Natan!! He was Awesome!!! Friendly, funny, great to talk to, handled all the orders no problem and really catered to us all. He did fantastic for such a large group! He got hugs in the end!!
We enjoyed the service and the food during our visit. We ordered the Legendary Feast with brisket and bread pudding for dessert, and everything was good as expected from our favourite restaurant. However, we were disappointed by one small detail. I made a reservation for four to celebrate my parents’ anniversary and was told we would receive a complimentary sundae. I even followed up during the visit, but it never arrived. While we still enjoyed the meal, this was disappointing as it was meant to be part of a special celebration.
Dined in recently great food, relaxed atmosphere, and the Devil’s Spit Caesar was the most interesting variation I’ve tried.
This restaurant has ample parking. The parking lot is easy to use even on a busy Friday night. They have a variety of seating options. It was busy, tables get full on Fridays. Staff was rushed but friendly. The food came quickly and was fresh and hot. The beef brisket was underwhelming. It seemed rather bland. The toast didn't help. The dull cutlery didn't help. The pork was okay. The flavor of the meat was lost in the sauce. The corn was good. The mac n cheese was awesome, it had a bit of a kick and corn. It was different but it worked. If you expect creamy cheesy comfort mac and cheese this isn't it. Rather small portion. The fish was very good. It was juicy and cooked just right. However it had a spicy coating which was a surprise. Overall it's a bit of mixed bag.
Came in with my girlfriend and had a great time. We ordered the Founder’s Feast, and everything tasted excellent. One of the sauces was so good that I asked whether it was possible to buy it at retail, but was told retail sales are paused right now. Are there any plans to bring the sauces back to retail?
I did not really know what to expect coming here as we had chosen this spot last minute for dinner, but it was amazing. I had the boneless wings (cajun), and the cajun dry rub was some of the best cajun seasoning I have ever had. The flavours were perfectly balanced and the meat quality of the chicken was better than most restaurants. The cut of the fries and the seasoning on the fries was really good, and the portions were quite generous. Service was nice, and although there was a wait the service once you got seated was speedy. Drink refills come frequently and the soda is not really watered down. Prices are fair considering the fact that meat will always be expensive, and the restaurant cleanliness was average. Parking was not an issue at all as the parking lot is massive. Highly recommend! I would 100% come back.
The service from Kelly was phenomenal, so was the food. Best side has to be the Potato soup. My brisket sandwich was good, unfortunately it was cold. i know i had the slaw on top but i didn’t expect the meat to be cold too. The burger was warm and delicious.
Had a pretty good meal at this restaurant. Lots of tables but pretty busy on a friday evening, that we almost didn't get a seat - we ended up on the lounge side of the restaurant. The portions were smaller than I expected - could have more mac 'n cheese as a side. The fish was good if you like spicy food, but was surprised that it didn't talk about the spice/heat in the batter in the description on the menu. The corn bread was very good. Loved the BBQ pineapple spears - grilled to perfection. The pulled pork was good.
A must try restaurant! The food is superb. There's nothing on the menu I dislike. Way to go, team at Famous Dave's Winnipeg. **Update June 2024** I love this place! If you've a hankering for really awesome bbq food, this is your place to be. I celebrated my birthday here and got a heaping helping of ice cream on the house. The servers are so kind and helpful. Very patient, too, when waiting on patrons to decide what to get. It's hard to decide when everything looks so good.
