We had the barbecue and it was good. The potato salad was like mom used to make. There are only a few tables, and the service was excellent. Folks there are very friendly and remember family details about the regulars. They are small but an important part of the community!
Our table had Chicken bites, chimicanga, taco sandwich (pimento) cherry cobbler and steak fingers. Food was great, best steak fingers and homemade tasting ice cream on the cobbler. Salad was a bit weak but the rest of everything was CRISPY and hot.
Quintessential Texas BBQ place. Lots of locals, Friendly staff, tasty food. Ribs fell off the bones, fries hot, beans good. Highly recommended!
We passing by and sudenly we found this little gem, they got plants and it is always like a good augurio, if places get plants they get good energy Lost Texas Cafe is a warm, nice coshy spot for having a great treat or meal. We were looking for a Coffee, they do not have any right now but the good news the owner was interested in to have a Coffee maching , they have a barist, so I think if they do it, it's going to be awesome They have un/sweet tea and sodas can. I asked for 50/50 tea which is good. The staff is awesome, they speak spanish We got Chili Cheese Fries and Mozzarella Sticks, everything was delicious, my chilli tasted really good, super flavored!! At the end the owner offered us Cobbler a deser, it was delicious, my hubby tried with ice cream They have a drive thru, and pick up orders, open early, close late and It was a nice moment to learn, talk and enjoy in english! and meet new people. Lost Texas Cafe... Great people, great food and great service Definitely a place to come back. Thanks Mrs Irma, it was nice to talk to you!!
This place is so good! I love going on Thursday for the burnt ends. The brisket is 10/10 homemade potatoes. Prices aren’t bad, especially if we’re comparing to Texas BBQ. The staff are so friendly!
On 10/03/25 my wife and I ordered for take out so I never made it inside for atmosphere. We ordered the Lemon pepper chicken wings bone in and they were wonderful, hot, fresh. We also ordered a three meat plate. Brisket was tender, moist, hot and seasoned to perfection. The ribs great. The sausage was smoked and unbelievably good. If you are within walking distance or if you had to drive from Lubbock I highly recommend this place . For our first time visiting it was awsome.
Absolutely DELICIOUS. I cannot express how much I enjoyed my meal. The brisket was perfect in tenderness, taste, seasoning and everything else you can ask for in a brisket. The hot links are a tiny bit spicy and cooked right. The entire plate was EXCELLENT. The staff was very friendly. I definitely recommend this place when in the area. Even worth the trip. Some of the best BBQ I have ever tasted. You don’t want to miss this one.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Lost Texan Cafe I ordered the chicken fried steak plate, and let me tell you — this place is doing it right. Five large, juicy, perfectly seasoned steak fingers with a thin, crispy crust that actually sticks to the meat instead of crumbling off. Hands down some of the best steak fingers I’ve ever had. They came out fast — about 10 minutes — and when I say hot, I mean so hot they melted the to-go box. That’s a quality signal if there ever was one. The gravy deserves its own spotlight. Perfect consistency, rich flavor, and absolutely magical. If they ever start serving biscuits with this in the morning, they could easily dominate breakfast in Lamesa. It was also perfect for dipping the fries. Speaking of fries — extra crispy, think Raising Cane’s or Braum’s level. Pro tip if you’re doing pickup: crack the box open right away to let the steam escape so they stay crisp on the drive home. They also let me swap the salad for mac and cheese, which I appreciated. The flavor was good, though the noodles were softer than I personally prefer. Still solid, and I’m looking forward to trying other sides until I land on my perfect combo. Overall, this was a fantastic meal — hot, fast, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. I’ll absolutely be back to work my way through the menu. If you haven’t tried The Lost Texan Cafe yet, you’re missing out.
