One of Chicago's hidden treasures. The location is safe right in heart of downtown Chicago but tucked away in the historic Millennium Station. This spot is one of the favorites for my best friend and I. You're guaranteed to find a nice conversation, the prices are very reasonable for the location, and there are a couple of eateries very close by, no need to leave the station. I do wish the slushy machine was back but no love lost.
Got cheap beers ($4 old style) before a train ride. Great for a fast beer.
My favorite bar down in the loop! Love the bartenders Elizabeth, baby emerita and Jay. The barback Reggie is really friendly! Definitely recommend the vegas bomb and old fashioned here.
It's a nice place to wait for the train. The staff and customers are friendly. The drinks are well made, and it feels like a break from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A variety of games and shows are usually on TV. It is a great way to kill time while waiting on your train or to visit if you are in the area.
Very fun little bar in millennium station, very cool that you can order food through the hole in the wall also (see photo)
I love visiting this bar everytime im in the area. Its chill and the patrons and staff are always so nice.
Great prices, great bartenders. Whoever was playing music 3/13/25 has incredible taste. Thank you!!
Wonderful experience every time I wander in here. Liz and Jay are masters at their crafts. The craft being train station bartending. Great atmosphere and fast drinks!
I recently stopped by MBar, located inside historic Millennium Station in downtown Chicago. Millennium Station, known as one of the busiest railway stations in The Second City, makes for a convenient spot to grab a drink when waiting for a Metra or Amtrak train. MBar offers nice views of Chicago's impressive skyline from its floor-to-ceiling windows. On a blustery day, it's the perfect place to escape The Windy City weather and warm up with one of their craft cocktails. The drinks are creatively named with train-themed monikers like 'The Commute' and 'Express Track.' In addition to its cocktail menu, MBar serves small plates like truffle popcorn perfect for snacking. The space has a modern, sophisticated feel with dim lighting and dark wood decor. It seems like a nice hidden gem for travelers passing through Millennium Station, the City's main downtown train depot located just a stone's throw from iconic landmarks like Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain. Whether you're a local looking to start your evening downtown or a visitor needing to wait out a delay, I recommend stopping in to MBar to relax with a drink and soak in views of the vibrant city skyline along Lake Michigan. Just be sure to check the departure boards still—wouldn't want to miss your train!
I love going to this train station! They have a lot of restaurants and shops that are affordable, not like union station where you can't even afford a bag of chips the atmosphere feels safe, they have security and Metra employees all around just in case you need help with anything! And there are other stores right upstairs on Randolph Street, so convenient!! I go there just to grab a bite to eat and something to drink! And then I go upstairs on Randolph Street to shop!
