I've had two company Christmas parties ate with others at table and by self at bar. Always excellent service and the food is impeccably good. And I'm always kind of picky about what I eat and they fix everything exactly the way I want it. Chef Jesse and Chef Andrew always make sure to ask me if the food is right because they know I'm particular and they want to know exactly what I think, which I appreciate. The place is absolutely clean and spotless including the kitchen. I've never heard anyone complain about the food just compliment and the only complaints are sometimes limited seating and loud music. But I like loud music Great for kids because they have a small arcade and whether I'm with kids or not I always got to play games and it's absolutely fun. Eric and Casey the owners host and bartenders are awesome and always keen to make sure your glass doesn't stay dry long. The other bartenders and servers are keen to follow their lead and always well worth the extra tips.
The staff was very pleasant. The food was exceptional. A fun place to play games and catch a bite to eat.
Great spot. The food is very good. Had the French onion soup. I’ve had the fried chicken. Today potato skins and a pizza. Eric and his wife are great.
I took my mother out for a Friday fish fry. We could not have been more impressed. I had the 2x2x2 plater and it was fanominal. Breading was crisp and perfect golden brown with no oil taste. The sdes were perfect. The staff was friendly and inviting. We were waited on by several staff members so there was no waiting for refills. I recommend this place to anyone.
Let's just say... This place is great! If you are the kind of person that is bored waiting for the food to arrive, then play some arcade games while you wait. And by the time you're tired out of basketball, the food is ready. And it's good too!!!
This place has been busy each time we have gone, you are self seated where you’d like to go. We always made sure someone seen us when we came in. Being served takes a little while because of how busy they are but you are always welcomed. This place has a bar with seating at the bar and to the side area, also has seating in the arcade area and just next to arcade. This place could definitely use some more room for how busy they are but a good place to go.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Great people. Awesome drinks.
Visit #2: My son has not stopped asking for another pizza, so we decided to eat here again this week. I had the Chicken Parmesan special. It was nice and hot and tasty. The portion was large, but not as large as the Mac and Cheese!! My husband tried the chicken Bacon ranch wrap with fried. The fries were hot and crispy. The wrap was full of flavor and the chicken was moist. We had a different waitress tonight and she was just as amazing as the first one we had last week. The waitress we had last week even came over to say "Hi", delighted that we came back This maybe our new favorite place ..sorry Bucketheads This was our first visit to Play by Play, and it certainly won't be our last. Some friends had been raving about the quality of the food, so we decided to give it a try. The dishes did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken with Mac & cheese, and the portion was generous—more than I could finish. The dish was topped with crispy breadcrumbs and melted cheese, and everything arrived hot and flavorful. My husband chose a chicken salad and a cup of chili. He praised the chicken for its moistness and enjoyed the chili's subtle spiciness. The most enthusiastic review came from my adult son, who requested a pizza. He's quite particular about pizza, but he declared this to be the best he's ever had. Today, he asked us to order him another one. Unexpectedly busy, Play by Play was more crowded than we anticipated. Having lived in Rhinelander for over five years, we had never considered trying it before. I recommend making a reservation if you're planning to dine around dinner time. One small disappointment was the pricing for the 16-inch pizzas—$2.50 per topping, which I missed on the menu. When my son ordered a "supreme," I experienced a bit of sticker shock. Our server was excellent—professional and attentive, seemingly the only staff member working efficiently, but she handled her duties like a true pro.
