We visited Oaxaca for our vacation and this bar is a must visit! The staff attention to detail and service is amazing! We were also grateful to meet the owners,Alexandra and they made us feel extremely welcomed. Enrique is an absolute maestro of a mixologist! Andres and Carlos gave us amazing service! I would recommend anyone visiting Oaxaca to come to this bar! It deservedly has been nominated in the 50th best bars in the world!
After visiting a half dozen bars on the 50 Best Bars in North America list during a 2 week trip to Mexico, the Miahuatlan at Selva was my favorite cocktail of the trip. It was perfectly balanced between a Mezcal Negroni and a Manhattan. I also enjoyed the Pasillo De Humo. The food was also outstanding: Aguachile and Tuna Toasties. All pictured.
On the 50 Best list for a reason! Situated in an absolutely gorgeous space, I was able to walk in on a Friday night and was luckily sat right at the bar. My bartender Manuel could not have been friendlier or more helpful, giving me great suggestions to navigate the menu as well as a taste or have some very unique Oaxacan liquors.. Had the Omalase which is an incredible two and one cocktail experience, mixing whiskey and mango and a really interesting way. Then a twist on a Negroni, and finally a super cool riff on a Remember the Maine using shiitake mushrooms that was absolutely delicious and also really weird in the best way.
We loved Selva! I have been here two times and had incredible drinks both times. They serve accompaniments with a lot of the drinks on their menu which is so fun and special. Their drinks are delicious and creative, not a drink you can get at any regular bar. I love it and will definitely come back, you should go here for sure if you are in Oaxaca!
We we loved Selva so much we went back a second night! Cocktails are fantastic especially their CLARIFIED watermelon cocktail. Views outside their small balconies are priceless with a view of the Baroque church, Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán. The ambiance is great and the young waiters work hard to speak ENGLISH to us non Spanish speakers. They were always friendly and smiling and accommodating and they made us feel welcome there. Don't miss this place
Considered one of the best cocktails bars in North America. I was lucky to get in straight away! I had 2 cocktails (the guava martini and the Viva la Vida highball), which were both amazing!
Amazing contemporary bar with old world charm. Very attentive service and bar menu sure to have a cocktail for anyone. Love that they use perfect ice cubes.
