I have been to The Dive both solo and with a friend, and each time has been so much fun. Karaoke here is a must, but you definitely have to sign up early. The food is also really good, although you might have trouble finding a seat if you get there late. The live bands are really enjoyable and love interacting with the crowd. If I am not mistaken, the Dive has an outdoor seating section too, but I haven't really checked this out since it's been cold recently. All in all, a great place for a memorable night!
Karaoke night, nice place. A little crowded but you can dance still. They had live music outside and inside. Our server was very on top of what we need
We had never been at this place. In fact, I did not even know it existed. We decided to come celebrate our friend's retirement party after it was recommended to us by one of our clients. And boy, did we love it! The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, the drinks are ok, the service was a little slow but that place was rocking so we didn't mind the wait. Everyone in our party of 25pp absolutely had a great time!! We loved it so much we went again the following week for drinks. I especially want everyone to try out their wings & the fried mushrooms. They are the bomb!
One of those rarest of rare bars where the crowd is from all walks of life and ages. We're not local, but felt welcome and that staff was happy to have us. KJ was great. Sound system is really good. Clear and LOUD. Mics are good and the KJ handles the on/off for you.
My fav place. I visit from out of town often and here, there's always a good time. So much performing talent in mcallen! It feels like a non judgemental encouraging and lively atmosphere. Service is friendly and so are the patrons. Come here for a good time!!
Enjoyed the live band and karaoke, our bill was correct, and drinks were on point, great price. Welcoming atmosphere.
The Dive has everything a cheers bar can have. The music is on point at times. But if you're not feeling it. Give a moment it will change. The food is pretty good. Always willing to please and help in any way. Party planning is a breeze with enough notice. Just like any bar, staffing has its moments. But most of the time, it's right on point. It's always a great time. The busiest days are Friday and Saturday. But there have been a few times like storm, they had a crowd.
So this was my first time going (Wed. Karaoke night), though I would go regularly when it was The Office. I can honestly say The Dive is amazing and really gets it right, with probably the coldest beer I've had in McAllen. The food was great, well served, and flavorful. The service was exceptional, both servers were attentive and very willing to explain the drink and food menu to my party and I. Prices are extremely reasonable, and I'm not just referring to happy hour. As for the atmosphere, once you're inside I guarantee you will not want to leave. It's inviting, and you can easily go alone, in a small group, or even anl large one and you will feel welcomed. I will be definitely be going again!!!
