I sure do miss the old Purple Onion aka P.O. but this replacement isn’t too bad at all. It’s a fun and pleasant place with very sociable staff. They specialize in beers mostly and a couple of ciders so don’t expect specialty cocktails. A gin and tonic no problem. The good I can’t comment on because I didn’t partake but judging from what I noticed on other people’s plates it’s doesn’t look too bad.
I do love coming to the pint for wings! Great wings, amazing selection of sauces and runs to tickle whatever fancy you're feeling! Wednesdays are cheaper wing nights! Thursdays they have fun trivia running. And if you haven't been here for a playoff game, I highly recommend. But if you do a reservation will do you good cause it's JUMPING! The service has always been top notch at this location to boot!
Honestly it was top notch, I enjoyed going here. Definitely way less crowded on weekdays, weekends are full on wild. If you get overstimulated easily do not go, if you love meeting random people and partying then this place is for you. Personally I got sick after going which is probably not surprising as I was in close proximity to a hundred people, but worth it! Drink server was super awesome.
We often come for happy hour on Friday, or to watch sports events, and have had nothing but great experiences. For pub food, the food is great and the happy hour specials are some of the best! Aleasha is usually our server and she is an absolute gem of a person, not to mention a very attentive server! :-)
Celine was a amazing server. We came here during our overnight layover in Edmonton. Celine was so kind and attentive and gave us good recommendations. She's a pro. All the other staff were very kind as well.
I had a really great time at Pint Whyte and the whole visit was super enjoyable The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, which made it a perfect place to relax, grab a drink, and spend some quality time with friends The service was absolutely amazing from start to finish. A big shoutout to Liv for taking such great care of us She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly during our visit. It’s always nice when staff go the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable and appreciated. Thanks to her excellent service, the experience was even better. I’d definitely come back again for another fun night!
I’ve been here for Wing Wednesday (SOOOOO good by the way), Thursday karaoke, happy hour, and many many weekends and have never had a bad experience! The drinks are so good and also affordable, and the bartenders are awesome! I even lost my ID here one night and they kept it and had it the next morning. Hudson and the other bartenders are all great. Would recommend a shaft or a $12 triple any day!
Pros: The staff are really good. Very accommodating and great communication for the servers to the bartenders. The food is also really good for the price. Cons: I’ve made two online reservations at this location in the past year both of which apparently aren’t received on their end. Thankfully for one of them was a slow night and the other one I called ahead to confirm that I was still coming as it was for a large group for my birthday celebration that I booked three weeks prior for a hockey night. They were able to accommodate at the “last minute” which was great otherwise we would have been waiting outside. Hopefully they can get their online booking system fixed soon because the same thing happening twice only to be asked if I booked at the downtown location is a bit odd. Not sure if I’ll book here again for another celebration but definitely a good place to pop in during happy hour or a night out if you can.
Hudson was the best bartender ive had in years. He is very attentive and very personable. Felt like I knew him for years. Highly recommend this oilers fan
It is always such a good time whenever I come. Karaoke on Thursday nights is always so fun, no matter how good, or bad you are. The service at the bar is always good and as quick as it can be. Hudson is always such a good bartender whenever he is in.
Came here for wings night back when UofA days. Came back for the $4 Thursday promo. $4 for 10pc pierogies and $4 18oz Beer It was quite filling and good place to watch Oilers game. Platter was nice to share with a group.
Catching an Oilers game at The Pint on Whyte Avenue is an unforgettable experience, especially when the team wins. The atmosphere during game night was electric—packed with fans, and buzzing with energy. Wherever you sit, you’re part of the action, with big screens broadcasting every moment. The food and drink did not disappoint. The fries were crisp, and the beer was ice-cold and perfectly paired for game night. The ambiance—complete with jerseys, sports memorabilia —makes The Pint a classic hockey night destination in Edmonton. It’s the kind of place where strangers become friends by the third period.
interVivos has hosted many events at The Pint on Whyte, and we are always grateful for their support. Selecting the right venue is so important when it comes to our programs and events, and The Pint consistently delivers. The board appreciates that the venue is not only affordable, but that all of our event needs are well taken care of by the management team. Thank you for providing the space where our mentors and protégés can meet and network with one another (over delicious mozza sticks!). We look forward to continuing our partnership with The Pint on Whyte!
