Great food with exceptionally great service! Here before a show at Cohoes Music Hall. Soup, wings, sandwiches and flounder! Recommended for a great meal before a concert or any day of the week.
"Buy a bar they said" . . . "it will be fun they said" . . . Kathy the owner. The Tugboat Tavern operated the first four years as a bar, then the next 16 years as a bar with a full service restaurant. Our second visit here 11/15/25 for dinner & drinks. Sat at the bar & were greeted by Melissa, Kathy's daughter, who brought us drinks & menus on this busy Saturday evening. Draft beers $6.75 & wines $6.25, full bar service available. Dinners were baked haddock fillet topped with a panko parmesan crust, and drizzled with a lemon-dill aioli. Served with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. ($27) - Delish! And a chicken tender app - three very large chicken tenders with spicy garlic parm sauce (choice of 10 wing/tenders sauces - ($15). Cosy neighborhood favorite tavern. The bar is friendly & fun. Bar with hightops, big front dining room, and rear dining room that can be reserved for parties. Plenty of parking in their rear lot & street parking. Hours: Wed-Sun 4-9:30pm. Thanks to "Captain" Kathy, Melissa, & the crew. We will be back Nick & Liz, Albany, NY USA
Had a great time at the Tugboat tavern, the bartender was very nice, and we had a great time. It's obvious the locals love it, everyone was extremely friendly. And I certainly plan on going back at some point. Thanks for a good time See you soon
* See below for *** Update 1/12/2023 Upon entering the restaurant my boyfriend and I were greated with big smiles and hellos from the employees, immediately making us feel welcome. Our hostess quickly seated us and shortly thereafter our waitress began helping us. All employees seemed happy to be there and all seemed to get along and work great together! We had the Supreme Taco Nachos for our appetizer. The portion was huge and could easily be a meal in itself. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips and I the Ribeye steak w baked potato and veggies. Both meals came with soup or a salad and bread. The bread was served with a garlic herb spice blend butter which was fantastic! The french fries with the fish and chips were hand cut which made them especially yummy and my steak was cooked exactly as ordered with excellent flavor! The restaurant was tastefully decorated according to theme, was very clean and well lit. Pricing is average for quality meals..topped with a personable, professional staff.. it's all a win! Highly recommend! Thank you to the Tugboat Tavern! Menu pics included ***Update-January 12, 2023. Upon our arrival, my friend and I were greeted with huge smiles and great vibes from Melissa at the bar. We sat at one of the tall tables and started our meal off with an order of Supreme Nachos. They were fantastic! We folowed up with a Fish and Chips entre (handcut French Fries, salted lightly to perfection), and an order of Chicken Parm. The portions on all dishes were very large and left us with enough to have at least two more meals just from leftovers! Once again, an outstanding experience at the Tugboat! Thank you to all staff and our chef! You're doing great!!!
10/22/23 Another great time at the tugboat. I had my son Logan and granddaughter Portia with me and we enjoyed our meals so much. The best part, is Kathy, one of the owners. She always makes you feel special. Just look at this gorgeous delicious pasta and salad! I just had a taste and this is out of this world! Wow! Not only that but the owners are wonderful people. Thank you so much! This is the best food in Cohoes and can compare with any restaurants in the capital district.
It was so clean and comfortable inside. The food was great we sampled 3 different appetizers.
Delicious food, chicken wings were huge, onion rings were done to perfection. The place was super clean and the wait staff was super friendly even though they were working short-handed the owner came over to speak with us and the waitress was smiling and friendly even though she had double the amount of tables to take care of.
Delicious wonderful portions. Waitress was wonderful. This was a takeout order and, I was 100 percent pleased
