This was our first time stopping and it was well worth it. The service was great and food was even better. I know we will be going back. I had the pork tenderloin. This was not flattened out to paper thin. It was large and thick cut of meat. It was awesome. My companion had the Philly and it looked great. A lot of meat.
Let me tell y’all a story about Emmalee - she is one of the best servers I’ve ever had (ever, not just in Iowa, but anywhere). Her personality is made for working with the public - she has a positive attitude, handles banter with ease, and has a clever sense of humor. Emmalee is the kind of employee you want to have on your staff because she adds value to the whole experience. I’m saying this because I’d return to Willie’s just to request her as my server. It made the experience incredibly fun. You should do the same! Overall, she immediately made our family feel welcome. She gave informed food recommendations (which were spot on) and she was honest about items she would avoid. We haven't always had the best service at Willie's, but this experience turned the tides. Emmalee was knowledgeable about gluten-free needs and immediately suggested options that worked for me without hesitation. I’m impressed with her customer service skills all around and Willie’s is lucky to have her on staff. The food was solid at Willie’s too - we frequent here during travel and have always enjoyed the options. This experience stood out because of the service. We really enjoyed the Truffle Potatoes (get extra sauce, worth it). Their dinner salads are well made and fresh (my favorite in Creston). I was also impressed to discover they offered a gluten free bun. The bun was a strong option too - not soggy or bland. The onion rings are delicious too along with the fried mushrooms (neither are gluten free). TLDR: I’ll be back. I recommend the stop. Request Emmalee - she is a rockstar! And enjoy your dinner!
All of the food was delicious! The cheese balls were delicious but a little expensive at $9 basically 75 cents a cheese ball. The soup was clam chowder and it was a 8/10. The Chicken cordon blue was kinda bland 5/10. The salmon and balsamic vinaigrette was amazing 9/10. The mashed potatoes and brown gravy was almost perfect 9/10 and lastly the drinks were mixed just right! Also the waitresses was really nice. All together I'd say 8/10 as a place to eat in Creston.
I had the Western Burger with sweet potato fries, and let me tell you , it was so good! The portion was huge, and even though I was full halfway through (probably because I started with the jalapeño poppers), I just couldn’t stop eating. Totally worth it! The server was super attentive and friendly ,I wish I’d caught her name. The whole place had such a pleasant atmosphere; all the staff were smiling and gave off great vibes. Too bad I’m flying home tomorrow, or I’d definitely go back to try more from the menu. This will 100% be a must-stop spot whenever I’m back in the area
Amazing food, Amazing staff this place feels so welcoming and comfortable definitely would recommend to everyone.
A fun and friendly place in Creston Iowa. Feels like a lot of their stuff is home made and tastes great! I had the blackened chicken salad and the burgers others ordered looked really good too!
We have never been to this restaurant before, my wife and i decided to try it on our anniversary, and i'm going to say it was absolutely fantastic. the food was amazing, there wasn't a wait, the waitress/server was amazing and very attentive and it was an amazing experience. we will be going back.
HO LEE TOLEDO! Stopped in for the first time, after driving by a few hundred times over the years, and was super impressed! We'd been in town doing some future planning, and I wanted to catch the last half of the ISU bowl game tonight. I was planning on a burger and fries or some such... But when I saw a reasonably priced Prime Rib, I was taken aback... Do I try it? I'm a meat snob from way back, so I wasn't sure. I asked my waitress and she seemed really confident. So, why not? WOWSERS. It was done perfectly, good cut, nice edge with seasonings, fat was soft and pliable, and the flavor was on point. I have grown to avoid great meat at restaurants, because they can never equal or best my own talents. After enough high priced failures, you tend to just get the chicken, snag a burger, or roll the dice on the tenderloin. But I'm glad I tried it. My faith in Prime Rib has been restored. The wife had a great burger, my boy was digging his cheeseburger and fries, and the wait staff was quick and attentive. I was super thirsty when we arrived and I'll bet she snagged 4 refills for me in an hour. I didn't say boo... She was on top of it. I reckon I'll need to go back and enjoy more of the menu now. Dine with confidence and tip those folks. They earned it!
