The best southern food i have ever eaten. To the staff: please excuse my stern demeanor and my father's overly bubbly one. You guys were amazing.
A great place to stop for some good home-style cooking. We visited while traveling and hope to return again. The portions were generous, the prices were a bit high, but reasonable in light of the portion size. The food was delicious - we had the meatloaf, and it was top notch. Our family has moderate appetites, and with the appetizer, the meals were definitely sharable. We also had the fried mushrooms which were scratch-made deep-fried whole mushrooms with a great horseradish sauce.
Kind of a backwards atmosphere it could be updated, but the service was good and friendly and the food was surprisingly good. I had a mahi sandwich and lima beans and they were very well prepared. Plenty of parking.
Seriously a gem! The atmosphere, the people and the food are all AMAZING!!! Everything was delicious and I even enjoyed just reading about the restaurant on their menu. Service is top tier!!! Can’t wait to go back and try more great eats.
What a great local restaurant! Love the food, friendly service and a feeling of being at home while enjoying a meal. Being from Texas - just reminds me of being at home
I love Harvest Moon. I’ve eaten here dozens of times. I don’t live near there, but when I’m in the area, I make a point to stop. Appetizers include corn nuggets, fried mushrooms, and my favorite, blue crab and cheese dip. The menu always includes delicious variations of fresh local seafood such as blackened redfish with red rice, or whole flounder, fried or broiled, together with a selection of meat and poultry. I particularly love the offerings of lowcountry sides including collards, butter beans, fried okra, mashed potatoes. The service is amazing. The sweet tea is just right, and so are the smiles. The atmosphere is very positive and kicky. And all for a reasonable price.
It’s a must try! We stopped in on our way to Savannah to have dinner. I had the blackened redfish and my partner had the chicken fried steak. It was all incredible. We cleaned out plates in record time. We also ordered the bread pudding with ice cream. Also very good, only issue we had was we found a piece of plastic in it at the very end, but we had such an incredible meal, we didn’t mention it.
This place is phenomenal! Best gravy and country fried steak of my life. Food exceeded all my expectations! Corn Bread was better than grandmas. Moist and sweet.
