Golden Corral Buffet & Grill Rockford

First time back since Covid. Nice remodeling. Lots of food choices. Just enough food on the buffet to keep it warm and fresh. Prices are reasonable. Cookies were tiny though. Looking forward to breakfast soon.

The food was good...a little overpriced, but not by much.

This is by far the best ever Golden Coral thst I have ever been to. The Rockford location just reopened and went there the other day and it was just terrible all the way around. I had to go an hour out of tiwm to Janesville Wisconsin and told myself lets try this location and see if its any different and to my amazement it was the most well put restaurant. The service was great but the food was so good that I will take the hour drive just to eat at this establishment again. The food....I get hungry just thinking about it. LIKE AND SHARE

I love buffets but Golden Corral is not my favorite. That's a personal preference so I won't deduct stars for it. The variety is decent. Food is not very flavorful but they're catering to everyone's taste so bring your own hot sauce! I do any time I go. One thing that does make Golden Corral stand out is their desserts. They definitely have that section down to a science. I daydream about the chocolate pressed pie and carrot cake. I stopped going to this location because the staff were definitely judging my appetite for desserts in silence. It doesn't come out of their paychecks and I'm one of the few people who actually leaves a tip so I'm not sure what the big deal is, but OK. If you like American buffets try it out.

Marisol was extremely polite, right on point with service and deserves to be tipped. I know buffet style waitresses dont normally receive them. She'll always get one from me. Great food of all kinds. Happy they reopened.

It is clean and the sneeze guards really do a good job covering the food. In fact, it is hard to even teach some of it. The salad has a lot of fresh choices and there are so many main dishes, sides and desserts. The food is good, and I would say it is better than the dessert, which is fine with me. Back in the day, the drinks were included with the meal. But now they are $4. Next time I will skip the drink!

Compliments to the grill master — whoever’s behind that flame knows exactly what they’re doing. There’s precision, passion, and confidence in how that steak is handled. That’s not fast food. That’s craftsmanship. The atmosphere? Clean, well-lit, and organized. The buffet is constantly refreshed. Nothing feels like it’s been sitting out. Fresh salads, warm rolls, hot sides — everything complements the steak beautifully. And the dessert bar? That’s a whole other review. Service is friendly, warm, and fast. The staff seems to genuinely care. It’s rare to feel that kind of welcome in a busy place. Golden Corral at this location has earned my respect. We went to the Golden corral in Rockford Illinois last weekend, the employees are friendly and do a great job of checking out at the register and cleaning up the dishes. The restaurant seems a little understaffed. All the food was great the only thing is the desserts they're always not made right or no flavor! The other patrons need to keep more control over there kids they are running everywhere and dropping food throwing food and one family tore up the ice cream cones on purpose just smashing them. Some customers are nice some are trashy that is how they are raised and live at home.
