Ousama-No-Tamago Mojiko

Recommended by a local during my stay in Kokura bay, and its worth giving it a try since the baked curry is a local specialty in Mojiko. Try the fried fugu as well :)

The exterior of Ousama-no-Tamago Mojiko is a brick building with green window frames, giving it a retro feel that matches the name and characteristics of the area. It is located across the street from the old Osaka Shosen. The interior was just like the building I saw from the outside. The bricks, wood, and green window frames seemed to continue the retro feel. I ordered the King Grilled Curry. Rice, curry sauce, and mozzarella cheese were placed on a grill plate, baked in the oven, and a raw egg was placed on top. I mixed everything together and took a spoonful. It was good, and it felt like eating risotto. The raw egg mixed with the curry rice was also fresh, making the curry taste even more savory. For drinks, I ordered Mojiko Weizen and Sakura Beer. Mojiko Weizen had a refreshing fruity flavor, was smooth and tasty. Sakura Beer had a light and sweet malt flavor, was full of cherry blossom flavor, and had a good balance of flavors.

I visited around sunset for dinner and was deeply impressed by the view of the sun setting over the harbor. I had chicken yaki curry, and the grilled curry paired perfectly with the chicken, making it a delicious meal. Since it is also a pancake specialty restaurant, visiting around lunchtime to try their pancakes would be a great idea. If you ever visit Mojiko Port, I highly recommend stopping by!

The food I ate was yummy. The omelette rice I ate was fluffy, savory sauce. Simple yet so satisfying.

Mojiko is famous for his grilled curry and this dish tastes good here. Very close to the railway station，smile waiters and comfortable environment. The cheese mixed good with the curry and just a little salty which need to eat with more rice

Came on a Saturday afternoon in October. The baked curry here is offered with different toppings (some seasonal). It has a deeper flavour, not spicy and less sweet. Found eggshell…must’ve been in a hurry. Some may prefer this. The pancake was super fluffy, though it took a long time after our meal to arrive.

We were strolling around in nice weather, and it was around 4 pm. We wanted a little rest, so we stopped by for early dinner and sweets at the patio, looking out to the sea. Even though this area is known for their baked curry, I wasn't in the mood for curry. They had alternatives like fluffy pancakes and omurice with demi sauce, which was perfect. We ordered one of each and a side of fries. Everything was super delicious!

So delicious and nice atmosphere. Great staff service. I feel impressed.
