Our server was cordial and attentive, which I greatly appreciated. The beef brisket quesadilla was juicy, smokey and delectable. I highly recommend it! The turkey bacon sub on a ciabatta bun was meaty and satisfying. Paired with crispy sweet potato fries made for a perfect meal. Another must try!

The Best Male Server I've Had In Peterborough. Very friendly & attentive great energy server. The food was GREAT. Very unique Beer Bread Taste & filling meat sandwich with Pickles. The Chili was elevated too with onion rings, corn, greens, & their special cooked meat. Wow! Great atmosphere & great music. Dr. J's lived up to the name.

Was a great night out. Was way more food than expected but it was top notch. Poor server was run off her feet but we managed. As I am an avid Smoker as well I am a tough critic of our dinners out which are limited because of let down after let down. The Mac and Cheese was on point and $11 for a small order may seem alot but this is made from scratch. The Redneck Nachos was a meal in itself but as an app it was too big. Half the size for $12 would sell more. We would come back to enjoy the full platter for $23 with drinks. Wings were off the hook and the dipping sauce was great with the Crown Maple wings. Hand cut fries tied the meal in well. Brisket was moist and flavorful just missed the traditional smoke ring. Their pulled pork was as good as mine and people love mine. Great ambience but was missing the Smokehouse smell as we pulled up but that could have been because of a slow night. Will be back again soon.

Great place. Not only was our experience memorable to the new people with us with bbq but the taste was amazing. Tony was exceptional with his knowledge about anything bbq related and made you feel confident about what you want to order.

Really good food and prices are great. Only thing is portions are extremely small so if you are hungry plan on buying multiple plates.

While traveling I only pick locally owned, when I can. This nite I picked Dr.J's. and they didn't disappoint! I enjoyed the BBQ&fixins, atmosphere and of course the people both the staff and locals. Thanks for the good conversation. Cheers AJ, Sam and Matt!

Really nice, authentic slow cooked and smoked BBQ. I had the sampler with Ribs, Brisket and pulled pork. Nice, deep smoky flavours, and pretty good service. 4 stars instead of 5 because the ribs and brisket both had really nice texture, but were both under seasoned to my tastes, but I'll definitely be back. The slaw, beans and cornbread were all excellent too (had to have a bite of the cornbread before I took the pic)

We just decided to see what the food was like on our visit to peterbough I got a salad and sandwich both were unique and very good. The girls got Chile cheese fries and some drinks all and all it was a good meal the waitress was intentive and friendly

I've been here a few times and the food is always soooo good! Their smoked meat is mouth watering and their Mac and cheese explodes with flavour in your mouth. The staff is very nice and welcoming and the atmosphere is very relaxed but also offers a great pub experience. If you haven't yet, you gotta try out this smokehouse!
