Authentic eatery with great food. Hainan Chicken Rice was good, but the rice itself could use a bit more aroma. Other dishes do surpass our expectations. Just be aware that service may not be quick when the place gets crowded.

A Bite of China is great if you're looking for comforting Cantonese food in the Rockville area. I enjoyed the flavorful Hainan Chicken & Rice paired with dipping sauces. I haven’t tried other items on the menu. The restaurant itself is casual—good for a low-key dinner or a meal with friends and family.

Have been here a few times and my impression is that the dishes are a bit hit or miss, so you need to know what to order. I would say the must haves are the Hainan Chicken Rice which is their speciality and my personal favorite is the Sweet and Sour Radish appetizer. On the flip side, there are a few dishes that I like to order from Chinese restaurants that I felt were a step below including the Spicy Wontons (红油抄手) and the stir fried string beans (四季豆). Still not bad by any means, but not as good as the same dish in other restaurants, and not as good as the other dishes I mentioned above.

I was hesitant to come here because of the low rating but as mentioned by another reviewer, ignore the old reviews and old photos. These are new owners with a new chef and new menu. I am so glad I came. They specialize in Hainan Chicken and Hong Kong style Chinese food. They also serve the standard Chinese food available at all Chinese restaurants. Their food is very authentic to Asian cuisine. I need to travel to Asia to get food like this but it is now available in Rockville. Did I mention their chef has won international cooking awards? I definitely recommend trying their different dishes here. I will definitely be back to try more.

very good and authentic food!!! Came here with my boyfriend and his parents, everything was super flavorful and their portion sizes are huge. The tomatoe and egg, shredded chicken, and chicken rice were the best!

New ownership and their specialty “Hainan” chicken is really good! I also love their soy sauce fried noodle and chicken wings which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Also the new owners are so nice and comp my kids 2 of her Hong Kong style milk tea. Since when can you find comp and friendly service in an Asian restaurant?!?!?

I have never ate Chinese food BETTER than this place! A bite of China is the most amazing restaurant I have been too! The food comes in large portions and is not hurtful at all towards your wallet! My family and I were very delighted eating here! I will for sure be coming here in the future! The workers as well are very kind and attentive! If you are having doubts or wondering if you should eat in, you must! It is amazing food I am happy to have eaten!

A hole in the wall serving YUMMY dishes with efficiency, enthusiasm and kindness (hard to come by). This is our 3rd visit. Every staff work together - from order taking, to serving up the dishes, to cleaning up empty dishes. When we ordered tea, staff asked if she could bring additional cups. When we ordered to go, staff reminded us there was sauce and to be careful of spill. Had their famous Hainan Chicken combo that comes with soup and vegetables. A dish my 80+ mom used to make. She gratefully approves of their dish. For her, the rice could be softer. But the coconut papaya soup and the de-boned chicken leg brought back great memories for her. Word of caution - be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend and dinner time. Take-out is fast, though.
