Boon Kai Restaurant (Take Out Only)

They have the Best Asian food in the area for sure. Many Asian cuisines around but Boon Kai beats em all hands down! Neil at the front door is so friendly and personable. They also have the drive up pick up only now which is really amazing since most places seemed to stop to offer it any longer. 10/10 would recommend.

Second time here (5/2024). Still great flavor, amazing price and portions, they make sure to get order right, and Would recommend. Only critique is breading on general Tsos might be little over done and can be a little hard. Is it possible to request less cook time??? Love the flavor of the sauce. TLDR: would recommend, good food, great price, and will be back. To be honest the main reason we wanted to try this Chinese restaurant is because they are SAVAGE with Karen’s in the reviews haha. But after getting the food I’d come back for sure. I was happy they ACTUALLY made my General Taos “extra spicy” like I asked. I’m sweating haha. Soooo many times I ask other restaurants for extra spicy and they don’t seem to do anything. BOON Kai came through. THANK YOU. We enjoyed the fried rice, rangoons, egg roll, and the rest.

First time eating there, everything was delicious!! Almond boneless, sesame chicken and chicken lo mein, egg rolls and crab rangoons were all excellent. Already looking forward to my next time.

So much food for the price! We got the crab ragoons, orange chicken and general tso, and enjoyed it all, especially the crab ragoons with the plum sauce!

Boon Kai has so many great dishes that we make a point to stop when driving between Lansing & Dearborn. This was the first place I remember having Asian food as a teenager and it is still my favorite. So glad that relatives took over this wonderful restaurant when the owner passed away. It is a gem!

Boon Kai had always been one of my favorite restaurants!! I still enjoy the food, but it depends on what I am getting. The chicken fried rice was fantastic! But it seems like the dinner rolls have changed in taste and I’m just not keen on them. I’m also not a fan of the sweet and sour sauce anymore. Very friendly and fast service though!

I'm a very picky eater (1st time here). Most Chinese food don't cook chicken fried rice like I want and crave. This place chicken fried rice is to die for. I love it so much I will be back, my fav part is the bean sprouts yum. I made a mistake but it's not on them, I ordered fried wontons but I meant to get crab rangoons so I will be trying those next time. Their egg rolls are ok not really how I like but everyone's taste buds are different. The guy that handed me the food was a good spirit and was happy to serve me so I thank him for being pleasant to deal with. And to top this review off the price is good for the food. You get so much for little $. I'll be back for more chicken fried rice and crab rangoons

Awesome restaurant, been going here for years! Super friendly staff and excellent food. Reading the review below made me feel the need to weigh in my own experiences. It’s such a shame that people will knowingly lie to try and ruin long established local businesses that are cornerstones of our wonderful community. I’m shocked someone would actually go to a restaurant that they had multiple reports of it being unfit. I think this alone can sum up this partitioner’s IQ as well below average. Thanks again for the continued wonderful service!
