Let me preface by saying, I've written one review in my 28 years alive on this beautiful earth. Not many things blow me away. Short story time, my mother remarried when I was young to a Japanese man. So my (step)grandmother from Osaka, JP consistently cooked for me growing up. I loved her unique and authentic traditional Japanese cuisine, constantly craving her delightful dishes. Now let me tell you something, if my grandmother saw the way I devoured my meal tonight at the Dragon Inn, she would be devastated. I don't even like Chinese food, but my entire viewpoint on Asian cuisine may have changed tonight. I haven't enjoyed a meal like that since who knows when. My best friend and I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Spicy Shredded Beef Szechuan Style, Egg rolls, Egg drop soup, and Crab Rangoons. The egg roll was a big as a coke can, the Rangoons were awesome, and the meals were unbelievable. We combined said 10 words to each other the entire meal. You know that crappy feeling you get after eating greasy Chinese food? Not here, we ate everything brought out, scraped our plates and promised to see the staff again soon. This was probably the best sit down meal I've had in my life and I can't believe I just typed that out. 50 years of Kansas City excellency, Dragon Inn & the To-Ping Tsui family are a staple. 100/10 Review if I could give it.

Went a couple weeks ago. Great setting and atmosphere here. Staff were very friendly, our server very very quick and a bit caught off guard when we didn't just speak our orders at him, but asked how he was doing; probably used to people not being too chatty. Loved going here on a date, and my dad's recommendation from coming here years ago. The food was good. Got General Tso's chicken and vegetable lo mein. The food was good, but it was the kind of good you find at a Chinese buffet, which is to say that it seemed to have substituted a lot of nuanced and diverse flavors of traditional Chinese food for the kinda of cooking that just makes everything really tasty, but the same. The crab rangoons were very good! All in all, give it a shot. Definitely worth it. It's located in a cute little town area that's great for walking around in.

I'm here for the atmosphere, cozy and cultural. The food and price is just right! I recommend having lunch dates or lunch meetings here. It's quiet with light Chinese music in the background. The service is quick and friendly. We frequent this place regularly.

I really love this place in downtown OP. All of their food is delicious . Super sad that they don't offer their half order and full order of duck anymore. It was by far, one of my favorite items on the menu...keep up the great work, and bring back the duck!

It took us a few minutes to decide what to order. And they gave us plenty of time and checked on us, and answered all the questions we had about the menu. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I will return and enjoy them again!

What a great find. So much better than the Chinese restaurant with multiple locations around the city. Service is top notch. The place is spotless. Nice mix of cozy booths and tables. Portions have plenty to share. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken. He fully enjoyed it. The egg rolls and spring rolls were very good as well. My broccoli with brown sauce was delicious and heated up well. I love sticky rice and theirs did not disappoint. It’s very unassuming and is now my go to Chinese restaurant. Parking on the street. Looks like they do a great take out too.

Placed a to go order. Crab Rangoon is pretty good and the hot and sour soup is the reason we come here. Lo mein was still hot when we got home, hunan chicken had good quality meat and fresh veggies.

Always the best experience. The family there know how to treat their customers with the best hospitality. The food is the most excellent and prepared with pride and talent. Update for 6/16/23. My daughter and I ate there last night. As always we're blown away at the quality of their food. Absolutely impeccable and couldn't be anymore perfect. Every bite was a roller coaster of taste and all the excellent ingredients. I can't wait to go back !.
