If you haven’t had the bomb Fit Protein Coffee from Java Joe’s, are you even living right? This stuff hits harder than an Iowa blizzard in January. I took one sip and suddenly felt like I could bale hay, run a 5K, and organize a church potluck—all before 10am. Java Joe’s is that cozy little spot where your boots don’t feel out of place, the coffee’s strong enough to wake the corn, and the staff makes you feel like family (the good side of the family, not the weird cousins from Cedar Rapids). If you’re in Monticello and need a caffeine kick that doubles as a pre-workout, stop in and say hi. Just be warned: after a bomb Fit coffee, you might end up painting your barn, fixing the combine, and signing up for a CrossFit class named after a tractor. God bless Iowa and God bless Java Joe’s.

Great little coffee shop! Just passing through...my wife saw some good reviews, so we figured we'd have some breakfast and coffee. I had the bacon and swiss breakfast sandwich, with a peppermint almond mocha. It was amazing! Darcy made our coffee and food, and was diligently working hard the whole hour-plus we were there...she was super nice and friendly. The shop is decorated beautifully with coffee paraphernalia; someone put a lot of thought and care into this place! A few different groups of locals came and went, chatting away about various things,and giving is a great feel for small town Iowa. My wife and I agreed that if we lived here, this would be a regular hangout for us! Thank you for the experience!

Came here after shopping the Whiffle Tree Mercantile. Needed some lunch and coffee so stopped in. We got an iced chai and cappuccino and they were phenomenal! We also got the pretzel bun with chicken salad and soup and a sandwich with a side for lunch to get us by till late and they hit the spot! The food was good, staff were friendly and it was a neat environment as well! Lots of vintage decor too! We will be back when visiting town! It’ll be our regular spot!

Super good breakfast, everything we ordered was delicious. The coffee was very good also.

Our orders came fast and were very tasty. Java Jones is quiet and comfortable, a great place to relax and indulge in the morning.

Great atmosphere. Good coffee. Food was wonderful except if you want a salad. Taco salad Its not worth it. Buy cheap lettuce, serve chicken instead of heat lamp ground beef overcooked to perfection, and give me a huge bowl or plate. $9 for a literal handful of lettuce is pathetic!!!

We tried this place with a friend. Excellent service. Small town love atmosphere. My only complaint is they don't offer allergy friendly options for food.

Quick service, good food and prices. We did carry-out but loved the interior. Will likely go there again if travelling in that area.
