This was my first time eating at Schultz's crab house. I went around 12:45pm and it wasn't to busy. It is seat yourself. Parking isn't the greatest but I parked with no problem. I was waited on in a few minutes of being there. Our waiter did a wonderful job and I couldn't ask for more. We. Ordered ice teas, hush puppies, wings, crab pretzel, coleslaw, and 6 jumbo crabs. I was amazed at how everything tasted fresh and is all made to order. Have patience because of it being made to order. We went for the crabs because of o YouTube review that I seen. There seasing is different and is not j.o. it was very good thou. They are a little pricey on crab prices but you do have options when choosing what you want to pay. I will definitely be going back there soon.
I've been dining here for many years now and am NEVER disappointed. My server today, 5/26/25, (Brittany) was very attentive and polite. I ordered their lump crab balls ($13) and lump delicious cream of crab soup as an appetizer ($5) and seafood platter ($48) which consisted of a huge lump crab cake, medium scallops, a generous sized tilapia, heavy salmon cake, large shrimp and a gigantic soft crab (w/sides of fresh cucumber salad and roasted red potatoes). This is probably the largest bang for your buck seafood platter in the entire state of Maryland! WOW! I absolutely LOVE this restaurant!
Some of the best crab (rangoon) in town (NB - my first time eating Maryland crab so I have no crab credibility). But hilarious jokes aside, we got there early and the kind woman fired up that boil fast for us. She was very helpful, giving us a very thorough and necessary Crab Tutorial.
We really enjoyed our food and drinks. We got the crab bisque, crabcake (fried) and I had some Orange Crushes. The iced tea did not taste good. I think the dispenser needs a thorough cleaning.
Schultz's was recommended by local residents. Got Cream of Crab Soup and Seafood Gumbo Soup. Liked them both. One thing I've learned: places like this are in neighborhoods, with cozy,down-home folks, good prices and good food. Service was good, and patrons friendly. Me being an "outsider" I enjoyed talking with one guy;we talked about a couple different things. "Mom-and-Pop"spots are lifeblood for some places, and Schultz's has probably been around awhile. Both Soup tasted even better cold; you know it's good when soup's solid after cooling. It's not watered down. That's my test of authenticity, and there's a differences between just enough Old Bay and too much. They're not overpowering with it, and you taste different spices. Chunks of Lump Crabmeat, good sized Shrimp with enough portions in both soups. Tried their Lemon Raspberry or Lemon Coconut cake. Not sure which one, but it was made by a Local Bakery, soft and good. Stop thru Schultz's, and see "JZ" (Julie Zimmerman)@ the bar to order takeout. Enjoy the food, atmosphere and experience.
Classic Gem of a Seafood house. DELICIOUS food and amazing family friendly staff. Been coming here for 40 years, and the food is always good. CRABS, Gumbo and shrimp salad are the best around! We always plan travel around this restaurant 11/2025 update, quality everytime. Added pics to show amazing consistency.
I have been going here since I was a kid. Their steamed shrimp and crabs are both amazing. Every time I come.back east I make sure I go here for dinner one night during the trip as the seafood we have out in Colorado does not hold a candle to what they have in Maryland but especially here. My grandmother who passed 2.5 years ago would always say how much she missed going here and it is a shame she never had a chance to come back here after she moved with us to Colorado.
Stopped in on Sunday for lunch. My wife ordered the soup flight with bisque, gumbo and tortilla soups. She loved them all. My orange roughy sandwich was huge. It lasted for two meals. Kelly did a nice job of working a busy room. It's old, but the quality is still there.
