The Filling Station in Palmyra is truly a go-to diner for locals — and now I fully understand why. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere has that classic hometown diner feel that makes you feel instantly comfortable. We stopped in on a busy Saturday without much planning, so I was really grateful we were able to grab two seats at the counter right away. Even with the crowd, the service was friendly and efficient, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. If you’re looking for a great local breakfast or lunch spot with fair pricing and real small-town charm, The Filling Station definitely delivers. We will be back!
The food was hot and fresh. The prices are very reasonable. You get a lot of food as well. The waitress and the staff were all very friendly, and welcoming. Absolutely love it here.
Always liked the filling station, usually breakfast and lunch. Great donuts as well. Tonight we stopped in for supper. Turkey, filling, mashed potatoes, all with gravey. A veg to. Real oven roasted turkey, just like thanksgiving. Flavorful filling and potatoes. Good gravey as well. Way too much for me to finish there, way too good to leave it behind. Dint have room for dessert.
OK, Palmyra is not a tourist destination so a restaurant depending on local folks must serve ample portions and charge decent prices. The Filling Station IS a destination with excellent quality prepared foods, very good portions and hometown prices. We had chicken and waffles this afternoon and couldn’t finish it all! Prepared just as we remembered, The Filling Station absolutely nailed it! Don’t pass up on this “dining gem in Palmyra”! Great food, fantastic service, open friendly atmosphere and prices that are below its competitors! In fact, we didn’t leave without buying a gift certificate for a friend of ours!
First off, my waitress was really great. Friendly, attentive and even made a few funnies. The atmosphere is super small town America, and it’s very charming. I love a good diner and all that it entails! Now the food: I ordered one of the specials: a prime rib breakfast bowl that had the meat, eggs, cheese, home fries, cheese, onions peppers & sausage gravy. I expected a salt-bomb when it came out, but was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t as salty as I expected. Added some black pepper & Cholula hot sauce (it’s what I do at breakfast) and it was a full meal with an upcharge for sourdough toast. My bill with an enormous breakfast bowl w/ sourdough toast, coffee and a giant HOMEMADE apple fritter & 5 HOMEMADE doughnuts to-go WITH TIP was under $35.00. You just don’t see things this cheap anymore. The Filling Station HOOKS YOU UP!
We’ve been here three times and it has not disappointed! The servings are fantastic for the price and the atmosphere is quaint where you can tell that a lot of locals hang out. The sourdough bread is amazing!
This is exactly what a local family diner should be! First the regulars/locals are known by name to most of the staff because they come in around the same time on a regular basis. Everyone on the staff are very friendly and helpful. I’ve never felt rushed especially when I had friends and family from out of town and needed more time to decide. The food is great. And the portion sizes are generous. My favorite dish is the Gut Buster Sandwich. And let’s not forget about the DONUTS! If you are lucky enough to get here before they sell out these donuts are the BEST. They will even grill a cinnamon roll or fritter if you want (strongly recommend). They serve breakfast until 10-10:30 I believe and lunch and dinner the rest of the day. I’ve never had a bad meal here. NOTE: You will wait for a seat or booth in the morning on Friday and weekends. Especially during tourist season.
Pretty good diner with pretty good prices. The waitress was friendly and quick with our orders, food and topping off our coffee. Overall, the eggs were a teeny bit runny, only some of the toast was buttered and the home fries were a bit dry. I’d definitely go back and I look forward to trying it again
