As another said, a wonderful place to get a great meal. Salad bar is amazing! ! Steak was delicious and tasted like a home grilled steak just perfect. Huge baked potato for the win. Wife loved her steak and shrimp as well. We came from Tuscaloosa for dinner and it did not disappoint! We will be back!
Absolutely love this hidden gem. Everything I have tried, off the menu, has been an absolute game changer. Also, the salad bar is one of the most complete and clean salad bars I have ever had the privilege of visiting. Cannot wait to go again...Oh, cannot forget the wait staff. Southern charm at its best, and very patient and polite.
I used to think that The Freight House had the best steak that I have ever eaten but I have to say TJ’s has them beat. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. It had the best taste and I’m not really a steak eater. I tasted my husband’s. I actually had the grilled pork chop which was also good but that steak was the best. They had a great salad bar and it was clean, what I mean by clean is that it didn’t have toppings dropped all in the ice etc. I really enjoyed my meal and it was worth the drive to Vernon Ala from Jasper Ala. We will go back. If I had one negative thing to say it would be to not use so much salt in the marinade for the steak and offer a not so spicy option for the pork chop sauce other than that I have no complaints. If you don’t like spicy make sure to get the pork chop sauce on the side. Y’all gotta try TJ’s Steak and Fish in Vernon Ala.
