Empire King was fantastic! I enjoyed a burger combo at a price lower than the big-name burger chains, and the quality was excellent. The fudge sundae was especially delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, which made the experience even better. I also really appreciated the eco-friendly touch—both the take-home bag and burger wrap were paper instead of plastic. Overall, it was a great experience and I’ll definitely be back.
We've only done drove thru. The fries are crisp, hot and yummy. The chocolate-dipped cones are a fabulous treat. The service staff are always friendly, efficient and polite. Treating you like you're friends. The prices are more than fair for the portion size and served freshly made. Ordered are always just as it was ordered!
UPDATE: Since my first review, we have been eating here a lot...we still love it! We've tried most everything on the menu and have liked it all. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ORIGINAL REVIEW: The CLEANEST fast food restaurant I have ever been in!! Seriously, I think you could eat off the floors here! We ordered the kids cheeseburger meal and the 2 piece chicken meal. Both were really good the staff was nice. They did close 30 min early, but it's winter time, so maybe they know that they won't get many customers? Not sure about that, but otherwise, we will definitely be coming back! Bonus: they make their ranch dressing fresh, so it is yuuummmyyy
While this historic cafe is not much to look at on the outside, it is truly a GEM in the rough on the inside. We stopped by around 3:30 pm not realizing it had closed at 3:00 pm. The staff was so nice and accomodated us by cooking up some great enchiladas! If you enjoy eateries with big back stories and love to eat great food, this is a must when traveling through Tehachapi! It is located near the National Chavez Center.
Driving thru town stopped there and it was great. Big selection of food, appetizers and desserts. I ordered the XL Pastrami Sandwich and it was excellent.
Hands down the best burger in town. Nice people too! Soft serve? Yes! A must visit!

This was a welcome site before heading off to my secluded location. The last Frosty King I saw was in Bakersfield in the 1990s! The pastrami sandwich was delicious and the coffee milkshake was awesome. I was surprised how crispy on the outside and soft on the inside the fried zucchini was, and so flavorful! It was a pleasant surprise. The employees were delightful to talk to. I'm going back as soon as I get a chance.
