The food is authentic and delicious. I love the salsa (a great indication of how good the food will be, in my opinion). I had the Caldo de Res and my hubby had the mojara. Great service everytime. It was my third visit and I will definitely come back. This restaurant has made it to my top 5 in Santa Fe. The walls are painted beautifully with murals. My only complaint is that it tends to get hot in the restaurant, more so during the busy times.

At first glance, Chapin Mex might not catch your eye. It kind of looks run down from the outside, and there isn’t even a visible name on the front. If you didn’t know what it was, you might honestly just drive past it. But that would be a huge mistake. Because once you step inside and actually taste the food? Completely different story. This place is seriously incredible. The Mexican and Guatemalan flavors are authentic and bold, and everything tastes like it’s made with real care and soul. I had the churrasco, and it was hands down some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. The flank steak was cooked perfectly, seasoned beautifully, and packed with flavor. Every bite felt intentional. It didn’t just taste good, it tasted special. It’s one of those hidden gems that proves you should never judge a place by its exterior. No flashy sign, no fancy storefront, just unbelievably good food. Honestly, it feels Michelin star worthy. If you’re even slightly curious, go try it. Trust me, it’s worth it. 10/10 would for sure recommend!

We enjoyed our lunch here. The steak meat for thr fajitas was very tender & flavorful. The kids enjoyed the chicken flautas, my partner got the caldo de res and felt it could use a little more flavor but it was perfect for a cold day. Their agua frescas were delicious. We will definitely be back.

I really liked it. They have a very good, varied menu, of both Mexican and Guatemalan entrees, including churrasco, tacos and some seafood dishes. They have delicious complimentary chips and salsa and their portions are good for the price. The service was prompt and courteous. I Will definitely go back.

I found this place at a whim, feeling very hungry after watching my grandson playing a basketball game. The waitress was cordial and professional. I was interested in trying their version of menudo, and my wife was interested in the relleno plate. The way the rellenos were made are different but very good. The menudo is good as well. It pairs up with the corn tortillas better than bread that they provided. Mind you, the larger bowl of menudo is literally a large bowl very well worth the price. Now, as for the relleno plate, we are not sure why a Russian salad is served with it. It was different, but very tasty. A Guatemalan/ Mexican food restaurant serving a Russian salad is baffling. They do serve very delicious food and the place is quite busy as well. They do have kids' favorite food available. It's a good place to try at least once, and they do have a website as well.

Delicious food we ordered a Torta Chavo del Ocho and Chuleta de Rez. Taste reminded me of restaurants from mexico. We were so impressed by the food and friendliness of the staff we stayed for dessert a rice pudding cheesecake it was divine. The place is nice and clean. Definitely will be back.

Being someone who grew up eating great homemade made Mexican food, I've always found the Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe to be only half decent until I found this place. Everything I've had here has been very tasty and it stays consistent. The only downside is how it's always super busy and they don't have enough servers so the service isn't great but the food more than makes up for it.

What a find! I ordered the chile rellenos. Tasty, filled with cheese, a bit soft because of the sauce, but delicious. Served with rice, beans, lettuce and guacamole, and flour tortillas. Great prices, friendly service. I want to try more.
