Deerhead Hot Dogs, Maryland Ave

I love this place, fun old school vibe. They were nice enough to give me some 'special sauce' to put on my CS. The sauce had a nice kick. The Cheesesteak was average/above average. I loved the roll. The meat was very good. I would have liked more meat. I like my cheese melted into the meat.

I’ve been coming here since I was in elementary school that’s located right behind Deer Head. I’ll be 29 next month. Great vibes, great people, great service, great atmosphere, great food! And don’t be a cry baby, try their fry baby!

Second time coming here food was very delicious. Customer service was excellent. I even ordered a pilly classic cheese stake with fried onions and mushrooms it was very delicious. I recommend the spot if you’re in the area or location for a authentic cheesesteak.

Picked up take out for lunch. Food was terrific, hot & delicious! Service was phenomenal. My food was tasty & milkshake was frosty & delicious. My burger was cooked to perfection, exactly how I ordered it & the french fries were golden brown & piping hot. Truly fantastic!

Always excellent food and service here. 07/26/25 - Google asked about an update. Nothing needed, but sure, let me elaborate. This place still rocks. It's not your typical shiny all-new restaurant. It's been here for a while, it's got an older look and feel about it, and even has a counter with stools, and that's what my wife and I love about it. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, we sit at the counter. It's about as reasonably priced as you'll find nowadays with awesome people working there. An extra added bonus is that if you served our country, they have a military discount.

The only problem with this place is that the manager belittles the worker Tommy in front of customers. He is a micromanager to the max, treats him and everyone else like it’s their first day on the job Tommy is very attentive and super nice.

When I'm craving dogs, I like Deerhead. The secret sauce (chili) is tastier than it appears,and the fries are fresh and crispy.

stopped by here tonight and honestly didn’t realize they were closing just a few minutes after I walked in. It was my first time visiting I’m a flight attendant who’s in the area a few times a month, but this was my first time stopping in. I had to leave a review because from the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman with such a kind and genuine attitude that made me feel instantly welcome! Even though it was close to closing time, he didn’t rush me or make me feel like a bother at all. He took the time to go over the entire menu with me and made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. Coming from a small town in Georgia, I’ll admit I’m not always treated as kindly as I should be — so great customer service like this really goes a long way! On top of that, another employee came over to chat with me, and we had such a nice conversation. Thank you both for being so welcoming and by the way, the sub I ordered was absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.
