My group of friends and I came in at about 9:15. Even though they were super close to closing, they were still super friendly. My only complaint was that my Nikki's Fettuccine did not taste the same as it does at their other location (the one off of Davis, I believe). The other location was so much better. Also, I don't remember the menu saying it comes with mushroom, but it did, and the flavor was intense and overwhelming. But once again, we came in late and they did their best
Niki’s – Rufe Snow Tucked away spot with a darker, cozy interior. The staff were very friendly and respectful, even offering an off-menu pink vodka sauce option, which was a nice surprise. Bread: 3/5 – We had to ask for extra bread instead of being offered more, which slowed the flow of the meal a bit. Drinks: 5/5 – Excellent service here. They kept me topped off almost the entire time (and I drink a lot). Cleanliness: Not their fault, but I did get a dirty fork. They promptly corrected it without issue. Atmosphere: Relaxed, picked up with more customers around 12:30. Salad: Never received it, and unfortunately, it was still on the bill when we paid. Main Course: A little under-seasoned at first, but once I added salt, pepper, and parmesan, the flavors came alive. The creamy consistency of the whipping cream blended with the tomato really brought the dish together. Very enjoyable overall. Dessert: N/A Pros: Friendly staff, solid drink service, cozy vibe, unique sauce option. Cons: Salad forgotten, slight seasoning issue, charged for a dish we never received. Overall, a good experience with just a few things to work on. I’d definitely return for another night out.
Spaghetti and Meatballs beat out Olive Garden hands down. The sauce was very well done. The garlic bread appetizer was good and the garlic knots complimented the food well. The Chicken Cesar Salad my wife ordered had a lot of chicken which was excellent. The prices are descent and the atmosphere was excellent. We had a large group and even though we did not have a reservation they were able to accommodate us. The service was good even with the large group.
Nikis is an amazing place to go! It has great A/C and great decor, plus the walls are painted beautifully. The bread was really soft and the Baked Ziti was nice and perfect texture.
We ate here for the first time last night. We’ve eaten at Nikki’s on Davis in NRH. But the last few times the food left a lot to be desired. I was raised in an Italian family and know real Italian food. So I am very picky about what I eat. Darrell ate Lasagna with a toss salad and the house dressing. Mattie was our server he was phenomenal! He made our salads just the way we wanted them. I am extremely allergic to mushrooms and poor Darrell hardly ever gets them and Mattie fixed him right up! Darrell said he wanted to save some for lunch the next day but he just kept eating! He did however save some. I had the Rigatoni Vodka sauce with prosciutto ham and scallops and fresh tomatoes. It was so flipping good! The sauce was thick and creamy it was the best I’ve ever eaten. I know my family turned over in their graves to hear me say that! I just couldn’t stop eating. I did save a little. I knew the sauce would break heating it up in the oven (never reheat pasta in a microwave) but you know what I didn’t care! It was still so good! The garlic knots were delicious I love dipping mine in olive oil and balsamic vinegar they were soft and fresh! I can’t wait to eat here again! If you can try it and ask for Mattie for the best service!
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere! The portions are great and it's exactly what you want from American Italian food (garlicky, molten cheese, tangy red sauce). I had the lasagna for lunch and would certainly recommend it, along with the garlic bread and calamari apps.
This is our favorite post-Mass restaurant. The entire family always finds something we like and with our picky kids, that's no small feat! The kids pizza portion is as delicious as it is massive, as are all the adult meals. The dinner rolls are a welcome treat and the creamy Italian dressing is a must if your meal comes with a salad.
Huge portions, great service, great value. I had baked ziti with meatballs. My spouse had lasagna. We both had a side Caesar salad. The flavors and seasoning were spot on. Everyone on staff was friendly and wanted to please. A great neighborhood restaurant.
