O Sole Mio Cucina Italiana

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! Some of the most authentic Italian food that I’ve ever had. Our server Kieth was very nice, quick, accommodating. The amount of food that you get for the price is unheard of. The atmosphere is very authentic. Feels like I am in Italy! My new favorite Italian place. One of my favorite spots in Gainesville!

The restaurant's appearance hides this gem, the inside lighting is inviting and a small interior with beautiful artwork and glass chickens. The free bread they give is garlic knots which are phenomenal and not too buttery. The pasta dishes however outclass the bread, the noodles are a perfect aldente, the sauce is wonderfully creamy and the myriad of options allow anyone to find their favorite dish. The dessert is also very affordable, the chocolate tuxedo mousse is light but rich. This restaurant exceeded other fancy authentic Italian places, with its casual affordable and delectable goods I cannot emphasize how delicious this restaurant is.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem yesterday. We arrived just as they opened, and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. Our server, Maggie, was simply exceptional. From the moment she approached our table, her warm hospitality made us feel right at home. We initially thought she might be the owner, given how invested she was in providing a great experience. She took the time to walk us through the menu, explaining the various options and offering her personal favorites. Her enthusiasm for the pizza specials was contagious! The menu featured authentic Italian dishes, and you could tell that the ingredients were of the highest quality. Everything was made fresh, and it truly shone through in each bite. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Overall, this restaurant is the real deal. I can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu. If you're looking for a place that serves delicious, authentic Italian food with exceptional service, look no further. Highly recommend!

Uodate #2: we went again and again this place is amazing, get the BEAST pizza it’s not on the menu but it’s amazing!!!! The veal piccata was amazing! Tender and lemony! Ask for Keith he is a great server!! Update: We went again and once again, everything was amazing. Took my mom this time. She had the eggplant lasagna and was in awe of how good it was, the fettuccini Alfredo was rich and flavorful. Of course I went with my standby penne alla vodka, can’t find one as good as this one. Also had the Gorgonzola chicken, creamy garlicky goodness….. Added a couple new pictures too, a must try!! Original review below———- This place is so good, we went for a birthday celebration, we ordered the bruchette to start, was ok but was missing flavor, needed more garlic. That’s the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. The rest of the food was amazing. For dinner we had the mahi mahi special with a Gorgonzola sauce, absolutely amazing!! The penne alla vodka was the best penne alla vodka I have ever had, great flavor and creamy!! The calzone is staple of must haves!!! And finally we also had the sicilian pizza deep dish, the flavor was great just needed some more sauce. If you never tried this place it’s a most try!!

This place has the best pizza in Alachua so far! I tried it about 10 years ago and loved it but it’s a little bit of a drive so, today I decided to go get some pizza and I took the 30 minute drive! it reminds me of an old school, Italian restaurant/pizzeria that they have in New York! They got one hell of a selection of pizza! They also have desserts and a menu that should satisfy anybody who loves Italian food! I took a picture of my pizza and the menu so you could see everything they have! Definitely worth a try if you haven’t had it yet! I will be back!

Wow. What a surprise this place was. We ordered a California salad and ask for it split onto two and as you can see it's huge and filled with great fresh ingredients. The family size Calzone was amazing too! Sorry ..it was so big I forgot to take a picture before it was cut up! Returned for more a couple later.. We had Jimmy as our server on the second trip and he is spot on! Just great food!! Have returned several times...its always good!

From the moment we arrived, our experience at O Sole Mio Cucina Italiana was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere felt cozy and authentically Italian, perfect for a relaxing evening out. We started with the garlic knots light, fragrant, and just the right amount of garlic an excellent opening. For salads, we shared both the Caesar and the house salad; the Caesar had crisp romaine, generous dressing, and just enough anchovy punch, while the house salad provided a nice fresh balance with vibrant greens and simple, good quality toppings. For mains: the chicken parmesan with spaghetti was a standout. The chicken was breaded well, cooked through, topped with rich tomato sauce and melted cheese, and the spaghetti was cooked to al dente perfection and paired with just the right amount of sauce not overwhelmed. The carbonara pasta was equally delightful: creamy without being heavy, perfectly seasoned, and served with classic touches done right. And for dessert Tiramisu. A classic done with care: creamy, coffee-flavored, and a lovely way to end the meal without feeling overly sweet. One of the highlights of our evening was our server. She was attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care that our meal was enjoyable. She answered our questions, offered suggestions, and made us feel well taken care of. If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant where the food hits the mark, the service shines, and the atmosphere invites you to linger, O Sole Mio Cucina Italiana is a terrific choice. We’ll definitely be returning.

Met with a group of friends for lunch. There's plenty of parking. We had a girl take our drink order 2x. Then, Calvin finally came to take our order. We didn't have to wait long to get our food. They brought garlic rolls out - those were very good. The serving was a decent size. The dish was basically fettuccine with chicken mushrooms and spinach. There was barely any spinach. Overall it was a good experience and would go there again.
