Best japanese restaurant in the area, i have been visiting quite a few places around but I always go back to Hamasato. Service is always good, food is affordable and very tasty, the atmosphere is usually quiet and relaxing. If you like sushi and good japanese food this is definitely a place to try
Have been coming here since I was a child, the most authentic Japanese experience you can ask for in Santa Maria. Reasonably priced, kind and accommodating staff with an authentic Japanese atmosphere.
Always a delicious meal. Only available for take out because of Covid but they will take phone in and walk in orders. The service was fast and friendly. For a top notch sushi restaurant the prices are very reasonable. I have been a frequent customer for over a decade.
I visit Hamasato at least once a week, on my lunch break. It is by far my favorite place to go! The pros list is endless- tons of food for the money, healthy, delicious, very friendly service, quick turnaround. Great, relatively unknown place- for lunch, that is. The dinner service is another great animal of its own. Once I visit for dinner, I will update this review! For now however, do not hesitate to come here for lunch!
1 food was okay. Donkatsu was not traditional japanese donkatsu, which was quite disappointing. Oyakodon was plain 2 i liked the interior of the store. A lot of Japanese vibes! Pretty cool 3 service was overall good.
This is a solid Santa Maria find. It has been a regular in my rotation for over thirty years and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal here Consider the Family dinners to go and the Teppan Tables for special occasions.
I’ve eaten here about a dozen times now. I’ll just say the food is very good, exceptionally good for the price. Today I had the chicken hamagozen lunch. It came with miso soup, gyoza, salad, along with tempura shrimp, broccoli, and carrots. All this and green tee for just under $15.
Another favorite for over 20 yrs. Food is excellent. Awsome order the lunch specials. Sushi not great. Owner is the same lady for 20 yrs. Always perfect! Hot, good quality.
