Excellent quality Japanese food, with a great, friendly staff. Been going here for 20+ years and they consistently provide great service and food. Both the hibachi style dining and sushi area dining are great options. Try the Ohio Roll if you want to eat some great vegetarian sushi and definitely try the garlic fried rice!

Favorite authentic place in town for sushi and takoyaki. You go inside the restaurant and you feel in another city. Peter it’s really nice and kind, service is excellent too! For special occasions I recommend you make an reservation. Also they have a good variety of desserts. Hibachi table is excellent!!

I went here for my birthday. Great sushi and service. My husband got hibachi and he enjoyed it. I can't wait to come back for more sushi!!

While in town for a business trips this resturant was recommended by several coworkers. I never would have thought to get sushi in Findlay Ohio but Japan West is great! The server was very hospitable and friendly, the chef checked in on every table and had lengthy conversations, and the resturant was very clean. The resturant is conveniently on the downtown strip near to several business and hotels. The food was competitively priced for the area and a great change of pace from chain restaurants. Would happily recommend for business meals, dates, or pickup!

We stopped by this restaurant on our way home from Detroit to Columbus. It was a very busy Saturday night, so the wait was a little bit longer than expected. However when the food finally came, each minute of waiting paid off. Very authentic and delicious Japanese food. My dinner box has very good variety. When they serve your tempora with smashed white radish, you know it's a good Japanese restaurant. My husband had curry rice with tonkatsu. The curry is every rich in flavor, and he did not share his tonkatsu with me, so I don't know how that tastes like. (Must be too good to share) The eating experience is quite enjoyable (except the waiting part), but it did not stop here. It was until Sunday and after we got back to Columbus that I realized I left my purse at Japan West. I left Japan West a message, and they replied once they received it. And the staff was nice enough to mail it back to me, so I don't have to go through all the work to replace my driver's license and bank cards. Thank you so much, Japan West. This doesn't mean I encourage you to leave your purse at a restaurant, but Japan West, they have the hospitality to go extra milage to provide you a real GOOD service. I like it much.

Had an amazing meal here! I started with the Ikageso Shichimiyaki (squid tentacles), which were super tasty and came with an incredible dipping sauce—definitely a must-try. For my entree, I had the Dragon Roll, which was a solid 10/10, packed with flavor. I also tried the Sea Urchin Roll, which had a strong ocean taste, but I’m glad I finally got to experience it. The Japanese Curry with rice and fried pork was another 10/10—the curry was rich and flavorful, and the pork was perfectly crispy. To top it off, they surprised me with a birthday dessert, and everything from the fresh pineapple to the ice cream was perfect. Amazing food and great experience!

This was a real treat that my friend surprised me. Japan West has Japanese "Izakaya" type of appetizers as well as great quality sushi! When you walk into a good sushi restaurant you should smell strong aroma of vinegered rice. That's what I smelled. Futomaki tasted like the ones I grew up eating back in Japan. Nigiri sushi were great also but hard to beat the ones in Hokkaido. I'd definitely recommend this place for anybody.

Japan West did not disappoint, don’t let the front of the house fool you, there is plenty of seating inside. We had hibachi style and our chef Gabriel was amazing and personable, he entertained us while cooking and cooked our steak to perfection.
