The food was decent although the Bulgogi portions were pretty small. They don’t have much side dishes which was a bummer. The seafood pancake and tofu soup tasted pretty good though. They didn’t seem to have much staff and it was hard to get the attention to order and pay.

I really like to come here for their soups and I do usually get the combo because I think it's worth the price. I always get kimchi with beef soup and sweet spicy chicken. This place never disappoint me because the food always on point and customer service is really good too. I like come here during the winter time. It's get really busy during the weekend around dinner time so make sure come early if you don't want wait in line.

This is a good spot and I do plan on going back. I agree with the reviewers who say they are understaffed but this is par for the course in the restaurant industry nowadays. I came before the lunch rush, when they were loading boxes, and it took about five minutes to see a host and get a table. The menu is comprehensive and covers traditional Korean dishes as well as Korean-Chinese noodle dishes, which seem to be growing in popularity here in the states. I don't know what I ordered, which is sad, because I used to live in Korea. I just know that it had the word "Noon" in the middle of the word. It was supposed to be some kind of fried/crispy chicken dish but was really like a sesame chicken or General Gao's. Ultimately, it was a giant plate of meat. I did not realize that the rice was free so I just got one bowl's worth and didn't get any to go. Were I up on game, I would have gotten the complimentary rice to go. They also served banchan, little pickled appetizers, including kimchi. They weren't bad but some Korean restaurants give you three times the amount & variety. I took half the meat home and had it for brunch the next day. It was supposed to have medium spice when I ordered it but I had to add crushed red pepper to the sweet lemony chicken dish to make it hit the way it was meant to. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes, time permitting -- I work a mile down the road -- and will update my review accordingly. Service was fantastic. The waiter was kind and attentive and tipped me off to the free rice.

I can't believe I've never been to this place before today! It's a bit hidden so I just got to try it out, and I'm glad I did! The food is delicious and service is great. I had the Udon soup with veggie tempura and it was very delicious and actually filling, unlike some other ones I've tried. I also ordered tteokbokki and it was good -- the portion was really big and they served it in two plates. For the price, I think this is the most tteok for your buck around here will definitely be back.

Soft tofu soup and galbi were both really great! The dishes came out in hot pot, which kept the food nice and warm throughout the entire dining time. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant to those who are looking to authentic Korean restaurant with different kinds of side dish. Kimchi had weaker taste than I expected.

Tteokbokki was soft and flavorful, and the pork kalbi was tender and well seasoned. The meal didn't come with many sides like most Korean meals, but the kimchi and pickled onions we did get was good. The waitress who was working on 8/22 (didn't get her name) was very friendly and gave incredible service even though she was the only one working a busy shift!

I ordered soft tofu stew, one with pork and another one with seafood. Both are great but not as spicy as I expected. I would recommend extra spicy for Koreans and people who like spicy food. Overall good quality food at an affordable price.

Last day in Boston and I just had to get something that felt closer to home. Tofu Soup on a cold day is the perfect way to end my trip. Kaju Korean Gourmet is definitely one of my top 10 places I've found in Boston and one of the most satisfying meals I've had in a while. Chose the classic seafood tofu soup, paired with the galbi clay pot, and it was perfection. Service was very nice, and the location can be termed as "a hole in the wall". But if you're in the area, take another look and walk right in. Clean and tidy, and has a 'home' welcome feel inside. Menu has a variety of classic choices to choose from, I would have came back a second time had I found this spot sooner. With that being said, I highly recommend anyone in the area to give this location a try. Especially on those cold, windy days? You can't go wrong with a simple tofu soup to keep you warm.
