I had a pleasant dining experience at Ssam. The food was quite good, and the overall setup felt authentic, reminiscent of dining in Korea. However, there were a few highlights and drawbacks worth mentioning. The Good: The staff members (the ladies working there) were incredibly kind and welcoming. They took the time to explain each side dish (banchan) in detail, which I truly appreciated. The quality of the food and the traditional setup were satisfying and hit the right spots for someone looking for a real Korean meal. The Bad: It was freezing inside. I was literally shivering throughout the meal, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the food. Also, I noticed some staff members were unfamiliar with the Korean names for the meats, such as "Galbi" or "Samgyeopsal." To a Korean, calling these by generic names feels like calling a Taco a "wrap"—the cultural identity is in the name! Final Thoughts: While I would love to recommend this place to my Mexican friends to introduce them to Korean culture, I have a slight concern. In Korea or the US, a Korean BBQ at this price point is usually flawless in both service and environment. I worry that the lack of heating and the staff's unfamiliarity with basic Korean culinary terms might give a slightly diminished impression of what Korean cuisine truly represents. Overall, I ate well and had a good experience, but a few small improvements in cultural training and temperature control would make this place perfect.
This concept is absolutely amazing and a great way to introduce Mexico to a more authentic Korean-Japanese experience. The food is great, but some of our party felt unwell after eating here. I loved my Bibim-Ramen with chicken, but wished it was spicier. The service was really attentive and great, but some waiters were definitely still on the training stage.
Great place and fairly priced for the quality of the service and, of course, of the food. I had the bibimbap and the fried ice cream, both decadent and packed with flavour. Recommended.
It was our first dinning in SSAM and everything was amazing. Our server “Saul Guadarrama” was attentive, efficient and friendly! Food was AMAZING! We are planning to go back again this weekend .
Very good food, a little mix of modern Asian with Korean BBQ.
Amazing food, atmosphere. Jordan was the best of the best. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience.
