This restaurant is fantastic. The ambiance and food are exceptional. I remember coming here when I was in high school and it’s as good, if not better. If you want an unique culinary experience, this is the place to go to. Did I mention the food is superb?? Best restaurant in Cedar Rapids !

Upscale Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere & excellent, fresh entrees. Reservations are recommended. The bar area is a great place to start before dinner. Pictured is the vegetable linguine with marinara sauce. Looking forward to going back for it again!

I recommend everyone come here at some point! A very deceiving place. It is in an older strip mall. You walk in and WOW!! So cool! I dont even know that a review woul do it justice!

Great location, Nicee food. But this place itself is much better for a casual dinner or a serious date.. It was really pleasant, with dim lights & low music. Totally loved it.

Oh.my.god.so.freaking.amazing. Can I give this thing 10 stars? My boyfriend and I went for an early anniversary dinner. We arrived shortly after 6pm. They prefer a reservation but will seat upon a walk in. Our waiter was friendly and prompt. Their menu is easy to read and simple. Our bill was about $70 but we thought we were going to pay well over $120. The food was OUTSTANDING. Ive been in food heaven all night. Well worth every single penny. My boyfriend and I cant stop talking about how delicious it all was, how amazing the atmosphere and how we cant wait to go back..Best meal we have had in Cedar Rapids in 3 years.

I had been wanting to check this out for a very long time and we finally popped in for drinks and an appetizer and I'm so glad we did! It was such a cool and interesting place and our service was wonderful. We did not have a reservation, but, had planned to just sit in the bar area. We will definitely go for dinner soon at the adjoining restaurant.

I was very pleased with my experience at RG Books Lounge. I wanted to take my girlfriend out for a nice little dinner and before deciding on RG Books I had emailed them to confirm if there were any dishes which could be made without the use of animal products and also, to see if there were gluten free options. I received a response indicating this would not be a problem. After getting to the venue and being seated our waitress kindly walked us through options on the menu that could fit our preferences. She also graciously checked with the chef to make doubly sure on a couple of items. I had the Mediterranean pasta and my girlfriend ordered the pesto pasta, both were tasty. The only reason I give less than a perfect score is that, I think I find personally, after having some east asian cuisine, I find more traditional Italian dishes to be a little bland, comparatively. That being said, RG Books *shines* in terms of professionalism and atmosphere and they are certainly no slouches when it comes to flavor. By being able to deliver on requirements of vegan and gluten free options, they are demonstrating a level of culinary exceptionalism in the Cedar Rapids area. I only wish they had even more options free of animal products. Thank you RG Books for a pleasant dining experience. Colton

Had a great time! My husband and I stopped by for late night drinks and dessert. The service was excellent, our drinks were tasty and the dessert was decadent. Most of all we loved the cozy couches to sit and catch up after a busy week. They make the best Tiramisu I've ever had!
