We ordered two lamb gyro combos. They were absolutely delicious. The service the owner gave was friendly and fast. The food was so good we were already thinking of when we come back next time. Definitely recommend. We need many more great restaurants like this where we live.
We were welcomed nicely by the owner. Ordered our food and it was made quickly. Excellent spicy chicken curry, babaghanoush and hummus. 10/10 most flavorful food I’ve had on our 3 day trip to Georgia.
Absolutely delicious. I used to eat at Al Salaam almost twice weekly many years ago but have not been back in over a decade (moved away, moved back and kind of just stopped eating out). Everytime I drive past, I remember and crave their lamb gyro with fries. Today, the craving won and it tasted exactly as I remembered. Perfect fries and crazy tasty gyro. A+ for consistency and for sticking around all these years. Thank you!
We loved this place! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! We will definitely be back.
The food here was delicious! Had the spicy lamb Gyro and it was super tender and juicy with just the right amount of char on it. The spices used to create the heat were exceptional. You need to make this place apart of your Savannah experience whether you are visiting or live there.
The gyro I ordered was incredibly good. The lamb was amazing and unforgettable, and every bite was a true taste explosion. This is a true old school deli. You walk in, place your order, and it carries the vibe of times past in the best way. While I was waiting, I had a warm and genuine conversation with the owner, Meqbel Salameh. He shared a little about the history of the deli and neighborhood, and it added so much heart to the visit. I will absolutely be making up reasons to come to Savannah just for this sandwich. It is that good.
I recently stopped by Al Salam Deli, and it was such a pleasant surprise! I ordered the falafel and fries, and they were absolutely delicious. The falafel was flavorful and well-seasoned, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The fries were hot, fresh, and paired perfectly with the meal that included a beverage; simple but so satisfying. The atmosphere at Al Salam Deli adds to the experience. The space is small, cozy, and welcoming, making it feel like a neighborhood spot where you can relax and enjoy good food. They also offer a small selection of ingredients and pantry items that you can take home to cook with, which gives the deli a unique, homey touch. If you're looking for a tasty bite in a warm and inviting setting, Al Salam Deli is definitely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Food is amazing! I always get the lamb gyro While my partner likes the chicken gyro.
I would argue this is the best middle eastern joint in the country. Absolutely crammed interior with an incredible atmosphere and an unforgettable decor. We had a selection of the dishes and the halal meats were delicious and fragrant. They serve a fantastic and authentic baba ghanoush and fantastic Palestinian style humus.
This is a real tiny hole in the wall place able to hold six to eight people. Probably great for takeout. Had the Lamb Gyro and it was the best that I've had in town. The owner is a really nice Jordanian. We got in a nice conversation while I was eating.
Very kind people that work there It’s a hole in the wall- and not a lot of space inside but the food is so yummy. You come away feeling something.
The best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten in Savannah. A tiny hole in the wall will seat maybe 10 people and friendly owners. Always courteous and really the best food at a reasonable price . I usually get take out and orders can be called in.
Went by reviews online. Not at all disappointed. Only tried the lamb gyro. It was excellent. TINY place. VERY limited seating. Most people were doing take-out. Friendly people... accents,,,Greek? It is definitely a hole- in- the- wall place, so lots of atmosphere, but maybe not how we use that term. Someone in there said the gyros are better than Yia Yia down the street? Haven't tried those. Would definitely go back here.
This is great place for Halal foods. He has several options. The food taste great. I strongly recommend visiting if you need some good Halal foods in the Savannah area.
Authentic place with nicest owner you can ever meet! I have had a very pleasant conversation with him and I wasn’t the exception; he had those with every customer he had. I also noticed many repeat customers, so he should be loved all around here. Give it try; the conversation will make you happy if not the food.
The best lamb gyro we have EVER had and the owner is so wonderful as well. Highly recommend!
