The best Chile Rellano stuffed full of cheese and deep fried egg batter. Loved the atmosphere with all the sugar skulls paintings on the chairs and all. Service was excellent. Was checked on several times. This was a great treat after camping for a while. Thanks
While the food and the atmosphere were good. Our server was non-existent. She never once came by the table to see how we were doing. The bartender took our order and we continually had to flag down anyone that would look our way. The bartender was awesome and the girl that brought the chips did most of the service for us which I believe may have further upset are actual server which never spoke a word to us. It was almost as if we were a bother to her just being there. The Margaritas were awesome and if I were to return I would sit at the bar just for the Margaritas
Based on a locals recommendation we decided to try Casa Calaca - we were not disappointed! Great food (like grandmas mexican), fantastic service and generous portions ... all for a reasonable cost. Would definetly recommend! I had the "make your own combo" with taco, relleno and enchilada - delicioso!
We stopped in for lunch on the way through town and were pleasantly surprised. The lunch chimichanga was huge and stuffed with savory shredded beef. The cheese sauce that topped it was super tasty and it came with rice, brand, guacamole, and sour cream cream. Hubby had a delicious taco salad that also had a generous portion of seasoned ground beef. Although I'm not a fan of Day of the Dead decor, it was nicely done and everything seemed very clean. We will visit again for the great food, prices, and service!!
My sister and enjoyed a great lunch here on the beautiful patio. Generous portions and delicious food! The next day, back home in Aurora, I discovered my credit card was missing. I called Casa Calaca--the last place I had used it--and spoke to the owner, Oscar. He said "Yes, we have it," and kindly mailed it to me. I appreciate his honesty and helpfulness.
This is an absolute gem!!! My mom and I needed dinner driving home from a road trip so we decided to try this place and it was a such a wonderful surprise. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the jalapeño poppers, street tacos, and chimichanga. Everything was presented so beautifully and tasted fantastic. Their patio was also beautiful.
Amazing Mexican food with bold, authentic flavors and very generous portions. Everything came out fresh, hot, and clearly made with care. The flavors were spot-on, from perfectly seasoned meats to rich sauces and warm, comforting sides. Portions were more than satisfying—you definitely get your money’s worth here. Great food, good portions, and a place we’ll happily come back to again.
We enjoyed our shared meal of Fajitas (although they could back off a bit on the oil). The serving was more than enough for us and we actually took home a little. My hubby also ordered one enchilada. Service was excellent and the restaurant was extremely clean and bright. I highly recommend Casa Calaca if you are looking for a good meal!
