I was born and raised in Mexico and I can say that I have never been to a Mexican restaurant in Texas that is this good. This is a real high level Mexican restaurant - the food is really unbelievable, the service is beyond excellent (kudos to Ulises who was our waiter and was the nicest and gave great recommendations!) and the environment of the restaurant is elegant and classic but authentic. We cannot wait to go back again to try new dishes and get that exquisite 3 leches cake that is by far the best I’ve had in the US!
My fiancée and I had a great experience at Don Artemio. The place looks amazing, beautiful atmosphere and perfect for a nice night out. I had the Chilean seabass with mole negro, and it was incredible. The fish was perfectly cooked and the mole negro had such a rich, deep flavor that paired perfectly with it. Our server Ricardo (Rick) was super cool and attentive, which made the night even better. Great food, great service.
This is the place to go if you’re wanting a fancy but unique Mexican inspired experience. Be prepared to see famous people there like Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russel and Taylor Sheridan. The service is top-notch. The atmosphere is beautiful. Ask for Abigaile, she took very good care of us!
The first two times I dined at Artemio were during the opening week, then a couple of months later, and a few years later. The first two meals I had were just okay, but I wanted to give the team time to hit their stride and truly learn how to work together. I can say i see a huge improvement from opening week and now a few years after they have been open. The ambiance on the other side of the wall, closer to the windows, is oddly much different than being seated in the front space near the entrance. We had the pleasure of being accommodated by Ulysses, and he was wonderful! I want him to be our server every time we go! The guacamole is fresh and tastes like you are on a beach in Spain. The margaritas are stout, but delicious, and one was enough for me. I appreciate that they have Mexican Coke in a glass bottle, because it is so much better than fountain Coca-Cola. This is the first time I have had the filet here, and when I took my first bite, i closed my eyes and really removed myself from the crowd to fully experience this exquisite taste. As a Fort Worth native, this is the absolute most delicious steak I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. WOW!! I cannot wait to return. Thanks again for the wonderful experience, Ulysses.
Ohhh my, this was our 2nd experience, and all was GREAT! Benjamin, Benjamin our Server shared soo much knowledge of the menu, not to mention he’s very knowledgeable of the plethora of Tequilas, Mezcal. His energy is very warm and welcoming. Thanks sooo Much Benjamin! We enjoyed the Filet Mignon, the Ceviche and fried Cactus… again overall amazing and enjoyable!
They went above and beyond. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Not only is the food delicious but the service is exceptional. I’m usually here with groups but also great for a date. We tried a bunch of appetizers and got some dessert.
We had an amazing dinner at Don Artemio’s! Our waitress Maya was absolutely fantastic super friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The enchiladas were bursting with flavor, the tortillas were fresh and warm, and the chorizo was some of the best I’ve had. We finished with the tres leches cake, which was perfection light, creamy, and the perfect ending to a great meal. Maya really made our night special with her kindness and attention to detail. Can’t wait to come back and we’ll definitely be asking for Maya again!
Don’t expect a cheap meal here. That being said, the ingredients - the taste - the presentation - and the impeccable service are not what you’ll find at a typical Mexican restaurant in DFW. We drove from McKinney, almost an hour drive per the recommendation of another foodie and restaurant owner so we had high expectations. This place didn’t let us down! Try the top shelf margaritas, and cactus appetizer Nopalitos Fritos along with some guacamole! My wife got the filet mignon and I went with the special. Both were excellent along with the Fresas con Crema we split for dessert. Next time we’ll try the Tres Leches! Yes, we WILL be back!!
