This was our first time trying this place and we’ll definitely be back! I ordered the taco platter and my partner got the enchilada combo. Both meals were made exactly to our customizations and the portions were generous. The food really satisfied our craving for authentic Mexican. Our waiter was incredibly sweet and attentive, and the atmosphere was clean, colorful, and welcoming.
Stopped in for a burrito to go. Decorations were beautiful, and you could buy seasonings at the entrance. Staff was helpful. Food is authentic. Will definitely be back.
I truly wish they were places like this where I currently live in Phoenix Arizona, but unfortunately not. El Mason is in a league of their own when it comes to producing the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. There’s something to be said about walking into the restaurant and seeing their orange walls and authentic Mexican style theme. I’ve always loved the fact that they have multiple varieties of different sauces to choose from which range from extremely spicy to moderately spicy to a brown sauce. One of my all-time favorite dishes there is the Nacho supreme, and they literally do not hold back. Always very generous with their portions. I’m always a burrito guy so whenever I go there, I’m getting either a steak burrito or lamb burrito. Regardless of what you get it’s top-notch quality. I’ve known the owner for many years. He is a really sweet, wonderful man who goes out of his way to treat you like family.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Meson in Freehold, NJ, two weeks ago and it was an absolute delight. This vibrant Mexican eatery offered a culinary fiesta of flavors that left me craving for more. To start my meal, I indulged in the burritos, and they were a true taste sensation. Each burrito was generously filled with a perfect balance of ingredients, including tender meats, flavorful rice, beans, and a medley of fresh vegetables. The tortillas were warm and soft, encapsulating all the delicious components into a perfect handheld package. The combination of flavors and textures made every bite a satisfying and savory experience. For my main course, I decided to try the steak taco, and it was a highlight of the meal. The succulent steak was expertly seasoned and perfectly cooked, boasting a mouthwatering charred exterior and tender, juicy interior. The taco was garnished with fresh toppings, including crisp lettuce, vibrant tomatoes, and zesty salsa, creating a symphony of flavors. The harmony between the tender steak and the vibrant accompaniments was a true testament to the authentic Mexican cuisine served at El Meson. The ambiance at El Meson was lively and inviting, reflecting the spirit of Mexican culture. The restaurant's vibrant decor and warm atmosphere added to the overall dining experience. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. In addition to the outstanding burritos and steak taco, El Meson also offers an extensive menu with a wide range of Mexican specialties to satisfy all taste preferences. From sizzling fajitas to flavorful enchiladas and refreshing margaritas, the options are abundant, guaranteeing a memorable and satisfying meal for every guest. Overall, my dining experience at El Meson was a flavorful fiesta that transported me to the heart of Mexico. The delectable burritos and mouthwatering steak taco were a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. Combined with the lively ambiance and attentive service, El Meson in Freehold, NJ, is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a truly memorable and flavorful dining experience.
Love El Meson, might be my favorite Mexican joint in the central NJ region. The waitstaff are super nice the food is fabulous and man do they know how to cook lamb! How rarely do you get that? I loved every part of my meal and it was amazing. From the soup to the enchiladas, try the chicken ones they’re literally too die for! Sooo flavorful and mouth watering I wish I could have some now. Only thing I would skip are the chicken tacos which we all thought were too tough. But overall 5/5!
I recently dined at El Meson and I had a very pleasurable experience. The water was attentive, patient, and polite. This was a huge plus as we have to young children. The chips and salsa always hit the spot. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. I had Caldo de Mariscos to start and it was delicious. I also had a chimichanga that had a good ratio of meat to cheese to sauce. Overall, it was a pleasurable experience and I look forward to returning.
It’s the most cute restaurant I’ve ever been in! There are hanging sombreros on the light fixture and little cute rugs on the table. Walking in here my first thought was this would be the perfect Mexican food date night! The food however really didn’t hit the spot. I highly recommend ordering from the special menu as it’s more traditional Mexican and less Americanized. However the atmosphere from the workers was very nice, light, and friendly! Fresh salsa and home made chips are also served on the table for free!*****
Just ate there today, my family and I have been regulars for years now. The staff usually remember us as the chicken enchiladas family lol. Owe them a good review at this point, as their food is always a good hit! Besides the enchiladas, the carne asada, the mojarra frita, and the chimichangas are great choices too.
