Chez Fatima – Ottawa is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. The food is nothing short of spectacular — every dish is deeply flavorful, fresh, and made with genuine care. What sets Chez Fatima apart is not just the incredible cuisine, but the heart and soul behind it. Fatima herself is a remarkable owner — gracious, friendly, and truly passionate about making every guest’s experience special. She takes the time to greet customers, explain menu favorites, and ensure everyone leaves happy. Whether you’re craving authentic flavors, cozy vibes, or just outstanding service, Chez Fatima is a must-visit in Ottawa. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be back!
I was hesitant at first due to the messy-looking plates in the photos—and mine was even messier! lol :))) But the food was delicious, and the cozy, old-fashioned vibe made it worth it. The waiter was kind and served Moroccan tea with a special touch. I recommend the soup and meatballs.
Moroccan food is delicious and Chez Fatima prepares authentic dishes the right way. All the dishes I tried from the buffet were tasty, flavorsome and spiced to the appropriate level. The selection was diverse allowing for anyone to find something they like, and the service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was also welcoming and cosy.
I just got back from Morocco (my partner is Moroccan and lives there but I am Canadian) and all of the food at Chez Fatima is so authentic. I showed him all the restaurants in Ottawa and photos of the food and asked him which one looked most Moroccan and he chose this one. Owner is so warm and kind and so are the servers. You can either do the buffet or the a la carte menu which is what we did. I’d recommend if you want to try everything, come after 6-630 as some items aren’t ready if you come earlier right when they open. We got there at 5:30 and tried to order pastilla but it wasn’t ready and other guests who arrived 30-40 min later were able to order it so just something to keep in mind. Food is amazing, flavourful, and the chef/owner comes out to speak with you! Well worth the visit.
The food was so tasty! I had the buffet and really liked their soup. Everyone who ordered La carte got really hot and freshly prepared food. The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Vegetarian options are also available
I've always loved Chez Fatima. The food is truly delicious, very authentic, and the portions are quite generous. It's a very welcoming atmosphere. This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the capital region!
I went to Gatineau for a wonderful Saturday dinner. Fatima was so helpful in every way. From my call to book a table for two, to "a la prochaine"... see you next time. And I will visit again. We took advantage of the buffet that gave a great taste of a number of dishes. Everything was spectacular and the authentic taste of Morocco took me back to my first taste of a local dish in Rabat last year. When you go to Chez Fatima in Gatineau... try everything and definately don't miss the falling off the bone lamb.
Fatima is a wonderful cook and business owner. I loved the food and the atmosphere. She is so welcoming and friendly. There were options for main course and dessert and starter! I didn’t eat vegetarian food but I believe some of the options were vegetarian.
