Old school wisconsin hunting/fishing fans will love. Been coming here 25 hears. I live in Tn now and came back to Milwaukee for a night and drove to Portage for steak sandwiches on the way back South. Thats 5 extra hours and worth every bite. Great pizza but i needed a steak fix after being without for six years. Cash and check only though so bring it and remember to tip. Five stars as always. As a former Pub owner myself I promise it wont disappoint.
As a family we always stop in for lunch or dinner when we are passing through. We always order the steak sandwich with a side of chili. It's absolutely delicious. While eating we then put in a pizza order to take home. The Tamarack Special is so good! Do yourself a favor and get you some.
I can't say enough great things about Tamarack Pizza! We stopped in and tried their thin crust pizza, and it was absolutely amazing. I shared a sausage and olive pizza with a friend, and our other friends had the meat lovers pizza. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service was wonderful—friendly and attentive. Whether you're local or just passing through, this great little bar and restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
The BEST sandwich I have ever had in my whole life - wow! My dad and I both had the tenderloin steak, it literally melts in your mouth - I cannot recommend it enough. We sat at the bar and the sweetie gal was so kind and how fun it is to watch your food being made (by Brian). I’m from Iowa and I promise we don’t have this type of great sandwich there.
Get anything with the sauce! We arrived on a busy Saturday night, seated at the bar and ordered the cheesy bread sticks and a pizza. Both were great but the sauce that comes with it cannot be overlooked. I will get it again. On a separate trip had the lasagna. If you want some food with that homey feel, this is your place.
Stopped in here in a whim. Drove by this place plenty of times and had already ate beforehand. Glad we stopped this time. Food was good and staff was friendly. Its a busy little bar and grill. I had the guro and she had the ham and cheese. Both were very good. The pizza looked amazing and I will definitely be stopping to try that later. Lots of parking minimal seating.
Great garlic bread and thin crust pizza. Diane is awesome! Friendly and great service. So good we went back. Highly recommend. And they know how to make an Old Fashioned.
Shack a rack pizza. This small shack of a place has character and warmth to it. The service was friendly and fast from this local joint. The space is limited with a bar a few tables inside and a few outside. Parking is around it and down to the local park. Great location as it is just in town on the bike path. The main reason to come is the tasty food and plenty of drink offers. Three draft beers were on offer and plenty of others to choose from.
