Food is delicious atmosphere is fine. The only issue is service is slow and they have tunnel vision. They look a bit overwhelmed, but it’s a small restaurant. Maybe with some proper training. Either way our server was sweet and did her best. Enjoyed our meal very much, we all cleaned our plates. Note: they don’t make reservations here so we showed up at 6:30pm to be the first.

Was highly recommended by a family member and did not disappoint. It’s busy, a bit tight but the wait was short (less than 10 minutes, for lunch, on a Wednesday) and although we did not get a table with ocean view, we sat comfortably in the middle of the restaurant with a view to the bustling kitchen. The steak was juicy, tender and delicious, cooked in a rich garlic sauce. The chocolate mousse was homemade, not too sweet, and you could taste the egg yolks and the bitter dark chocolate. Service was attentive and cordial. The front entrance is in a narrow side street which was not easy to find and parking was an issue.

Very good place to eat local meat and seafood! This time I ordered the São Jorge cheese as a starter, which comes with butter and garlic bread. The cheese is very good and so is the garlic toast. For the main course I ordered the regional beef tenderloin medium rare. The meat was very tender and delicious! Nothing like a good meat from the Azores! This is a place to come and repeat! I suggest booking in advance as it is always very crowded.

O Galego was our very first meal after landing in the Azores, and it set the bar incredibly high. The steak was so good that even my best friend—who never eats steak—finished his entire plate. The meat was top quality, cooked simply with flavors of wine, garlic, and red pepper that let the beef shine. The fries were soft, fresh, and had a unique taste we couldn’t get enough of. Over the course of the week, this meal remained our favorite, so much so that we returned on our last day. Don’t expect anything fancy inside—the menu is limited and the service is simple—but everything is done really well. A must-visit for any steak or beef lover!

Probably the best steak I ever had, it really lived up to the reputation here in Google and other sources. Other food like steaks with mushrooms and also grilled fish very nice. Staff very nice and helpfull. The ambiance is normal for a portuguese restaurant. No reservations, we went around 9pm on a tuesday and had no problem.

I highly recommend this restaurant! I had lapas as a starter and they were really good. I ordered the beef regional dish and it was amazing. The French fries were hot and fresh, the wine was excellent, and the service was fast and very attentive.

Very tasty 1/2 Bife de Lombo, the garlic on the meat makes the taste so good and special. Staff is friendly, place is quite nice and it smells good. I recommend if you want to try tasty local dish.

The steak was fantastic! Coming from Alberta, we love our beef and this place exceed expectations! So tender, so flavourful!!
