My partner is a true Sicilian, and he sometimes feels nostalgic for home, so for his birthday I wanted to surprise him. We went to ARDO for the first time, and I honestly have no words to describe it. The food was outstanding. The service was phenomenal—our server explained every dish beautifully and was incredibly friendly. Alessandro, who I believe is the manager, was so pleasant and welcoming that he even came by to check on us personally. Truly speechless. You must try this place!
A lovely dining experience overall! The gnocchi was toasted and crispy, the sauce for it was delightfully vibrant and simple. The portion was a little small, but it tasted delicious. I felt like the truffle oil though wasn’t needed and retracted from the dish since it didn’t let the porcini flavor shine. If they didn’t put truffle oil, I’d be giving a 5/5. The tartufo was also delicious, definitely very truffle flavor forward. The arancini was great, it was crispy on the outside and had beef and peas inside. It tasted like shepherds pie which I wasn’t expecting but enjoyed nonetheless.
Food, ambiance and service were amazing! Honestly, some of the best food (Italian or otherwise) that I've had in a long time. The high quality of ingredients is very evident.
Wow. Just wow. My only regret is not going to ARDO sooner. The mouthwatering Sicilian-focused dishes, lively but cozy ambiance, friendly staff and tasty drinks amount to an incredible dining experience that surpasses a lot of fine dining places in the city. Definitely will be going back, and hoping to make this a regular spot.
I just went to this restaurant with a friend for dinner and it was amazing! The pasta was cooked perfectly. I had the Con Le Sarde and my friend got the Ragu—we both had the same reaction: it was incredible! Everything was perfectly seasoned. Usually when I get Italian food in the city, it tends to lean more toward American-Italian. Not that I hate that, but if you're looking for authentic Italian, this place is a must.
Ardo delivered such an incredible dining experience. We started with the olives, panella, daily special app, and fresh bread, then had pizza, gnochi, and another daily special pasta. Had all the desserts and everything was good especially the panna cotta and chocolate moose. Everything was excellent, each dish full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, perfect for a night out. A must-visit spot that's worth the hype.
ARDO really brought Sicily to King Street East. We went all in and it paid off: started with a delicate carpaccio that practically melted, then leveled up with octopus croquettes (tiny golden bites of happiness). The polpo was tender perfection, the rapini kept us honest with a bitter green punch, and the salsiccia? Oh man, that sausage was a flavour bomb that deserved its own standing ovation. The whole night felt like a culinary trip to the Mediterranean without needing to pack a bag. Cozy vibes, slick service, and plates that make you want to lick them clean.
