Read about the Whaleback online, and was excited to try another hole-in-the-wall, “hidden gem” type of place. When you walk in, the whole restaurant is the bar area, with 4 small tables in each corner of the room. There are six picnic tables with umbrellas in the patio area. There were only a handful of people here when we arrived, but the place quickly filled up in the next 15 minutes, leaving a few random seats inside, and no available tables in the patio. There was a mix of locals and non-locals. Casual, low-key vibe. Sports played on the main screen and country music on a smaller screen. Mostly a 50+ yr-old crowd at this early evening time, with the exception of a younger, “Vineyard Vines” fashioned couple. A handful of people arrived later, but ended up ordering “to go” after learning of no available seating. We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Monday. We sat at the bar, and were immediately asked what we wanted to drink. Drinks came within seconds. Hubby ordered the fried clams which came with a side of fries, and said it was very good! I ordered the NY strip, medium rare. It came with slices of buttery zucchini and yellow squash. It was perfect. Although, since my husband finished his food while I was only halfway thru my steak, I was moved with compassion to share the rest of my meal with him. Lol. (Next time I won’t be so nice.) With two whiskeys, one glass of white wine, and two entrees, we paid about $45 per person, and that included the tip. Overall, we highly recommend the Whaleback and we’ll definitely be back when in the area!

Bob O'Mally's was a great stop on our drive from Boston to Harwich. This was our first time visiting and they didn't disappoint. The food, service and atmosphere were all topnotch! We had a stuffed quahog, fish and chips and fried clams. Everything was cooked perfectly and the vibe in the bar area was fun, upbeat and the bartender had a great sense of humor. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Cape!

On our way back from a golfing weekend with friends, my buddy and I were looking for a bit to eat before the long ride back. After consulting Google Maps, I decided to take a chance on this place. Wow! Was it ever the right choice! Great seafood (fish n chips and a stuffed quohog for me) and friendly staff/service in what felt like a homey/neighborhood type pub. My happy belly and seafood-fulfilled soul highly recommend it!

I didn't realize this place was all fried foods but for what they serve it tastes good although not very healthy. But if you're looking for healthy you're not going to come here. It is situated in a convenient spot right before the Sagamore Bridge. The staff is outstanding. If you are a big group with children you are eating outside. Hope it doesn't rain. Otherwise it is only bar seating inside.

Really delicious lobster roll! The waitress was also really wonderful! It may have been the best thing we ate while visiting Cape Cod.

Took a drive down the cape on TUESDAY. Stop at this little hole in a wall restaurant and it was delicious and very reasonable. Amanda our waitress was excellent. She also made our drinks which was fantastic. The food was excellent and service was the best. The seafood was delicious. With so many restaurants around what makes a great restuarant is quality of the food, service and friendly staff. This restaurant has it all !!! We will be back soon

Fresh battered fried to perfection!!! They actually respect the seafood. I almost never order fried seafood. This is the exception to the rule. The clams and scallops are a meal alone, add a slab of fish and some nice big shrimp!! You won't leave hungry on this one. The lobster roll is a healthy portion of perfection too!! Parking and seating can be a challenge. Don't hesitate to eat on your tailgate of you get the opportunity. It's worth it.

The place was very busy on both of my visits. It's a small place. But you can get a fish dinner down the cape of all places!!! for just $9.99. The price doesn't change. It's unheard of!! They have a Fishermans platter that has so much food that you most likely will be taking some home... And, of course, they serve beer, wine, and mixed drinks. I highly recommend trying the Whaleback for your next fish dinner. Remember, it's only $9.99 for fish and fries! You can't go wrong. This place was unknown to me, but now I am sold! If you run into my friend Bobby behind the bar, tell him Daryl sent you! He's the one who told me about the Waleback!
