So since Sartin’s SHUT DOWN!! I found this little gem down the road. Try anything Salt & Pepper:: the S&P shrimp and catfish are wonderful. Up your game Bruce (amazing shrimp on the walls.! and huge aquarium.)
So it's not a fancy place at all as far as restaurants go. That's all the bad, now for the good. I love fried catfish and the catfish there is really good. The fillets are rather large so be prepared. At most places I can eat 5+ and still want more, here 2-3 and I'm stuffed. The food is always hot and fresh too. The prices are rather reasonable also. As far as the dining room, most dont use it. Most get their food to go. The food is 5 stars but I take a star away strictly for the dining area.
The food is delicious Especially the crawfish The workers are very friendly and the place was clean and there are plenty of tables for dining in! Definitely recommend!!
Top #2 Salt N Pepper Wing place in Jefferson County for sure. Try thier Salt N Pepper Shrimp and Fish also
While people wait in long lines for some Popeyes, I'll get some delicious giant butterfly shrimp at Bruce's with no wait.
Best for take out. Fan fax is anything salt-n-pepper (wings, shrimp, catfish strips). Fried fish, jumbo popcorn shrimp, it’s all good. They also have pretty good tartar sauce!
I liked the crab balls. They tasted good and the size was right for me. You get 12 crab balls and fries. The only problem I had was 4 of my crab balls were dry. This was my first time eating at this place. Crabs and tuna are the only seafood that I eat. I will return for more crab balls next year, only because I have given up fried foods until next year.
I always get the same thing everytime I come here (fried large crawfish tails) & it's very good every single time. This dinner comes with lots of fried crawfish & French fries w a tiny salad that is obviously more for appearance than for eating. Anyways, my daughter & I literally share this dinner everytime we come here cuz it's so much that I could never eat it all by myself!!
