The food was pretty good. We had the fried pork chops and hamburger steak. The breading tasted like the grease needed to be changed. It was too terrible though. The iced tea was awesome and they had large styrofoam cups. However, there was a .50 charge for the cup. The server was very nice but didn’t keep the table cleared so we had to mandarins dirty dishes.
Stumbled upon this place headed back home to Dallas from Florence, TX. Best waitress ever - Angelia! She was friendly, fun, and sold the heck outta the menu items convincing us that the fried oreos were a must and she was not wrong. I had the hamburger steak, and it was hands down the best brown gravy I have ever had. Will find a reason to come back soon!
This place was a random stop on a road trip back home, and it was amazing! The food is solid, it's spacious, has lots of TVs to watch the game, and The people are friendly and our waitress Angelia was amazing! We thought the food would be decent country food, but Angelia walked us through the best options and they exceeded our expectations. I wouldn't have gotten the fried Oreos if it wasn't for her, and she was a positive joy to have as a server. And the Oreos are awesome. Much better than the ones at the state fair. Definitely coming back here on any trip nearby.
Driving up, the exterior is well maintained and the "horse and buggy" provide a rustic charm. Walking in, the rustic charm continues in a pleasing manner. We were seated right away and drink orders taken. We were a large group and the service never failed to be quick. The menu options were all so enticing, I had a hard time choosing. Our waitress was amazing; she was spot-on all the way. My only negative was that the chicken breast was overcooked. The rest of the meal was tasty and satisfying.
Very rustic and eclectic, the food was typical American fare, like fried mozzarella sticks, fries with cheese and bacon for appetizers. For the entree we got a foot long corn dog and chicken stuffed with jalapenos and wrapped in bacon. The food tasted really good. The memorabilia on the walls was incredible, lots of pictures of Elvis where we sat. If you want a break from a chain restaurant, this has character and entertainment for days!
Such a nice place! Stopped by on our way through Gatesville, and I am so glad we did! The atmosphere is so relaxed and yet so cool with so many things to look at. The food was amazing, and I will definitely make my way back specifically for the absolutely amazing fresh cut fries, fried green beans, and bubba bites Definitely check it out if you're in the area!
Great food and service with a down home vibe, will definitely be back soon!
Stopped by for breakfast on our way to the hill county. The atmosphere and decor is great. We were quickly greated and our drinks were brought quick. I ordered the Route 36 omelet with a biscuit my wife ordered the breakfast special, she got more food. Everything was well made to our standards except my wife’s eggs, she ordered med-well and got over easy, we could have asked for them to be replaced but she was ok with them. I would come back again if we were driving through again!
