Went there by mistake and was MORE than pleasantly surprised!!! This should be a must 1st stop for any tourist visting Quebec City! Plunges you in a historical setting (although medieval) but found it very fitting to be very close to the Plaine dAbraham which are historically charged. But anyways, le Festin du Roy so freaming good, not to mention an actual wooden keg of beer. Would 100% go back!

It is a hard place to rate, because it's a thematic restaurant. It's loud, rowdy and animated. The servers and cooks are in characters, and boast a very thick old French-Canadian accent on purpose. It is not, I reapeat, NOT, a place for introverts or people who wants to enjoy their meal peacefully. You are expected to contribute to the ambience by going along with the theme. The food is good and the portions are generous, especially their platers to share for two. Our plater was on the not-so-hot side. We could have told our server, but we were so busy clapping along with the menestrel and making small talks with the neighbouring tables that we didn't even cared! It was delicious! Keep in mind that it's a medieval fantasy themed restaurant. The food is not a medieval reconstitution. There is wedged potatoes (pétakes!) and other not medieval items. Think Lord of the Ring hobbit food. They are featuring a lot of wonderful local products and it's a very unique experience. We are going back in December.

Stumbled upon this amazing place by accident and couldn't have been happier with it. Visiting Quebec, so our French isn't very good but thanks to our server Arthur who was kind enough to walk us through the menu and converse in English. The place is a throw back all the way to medieval times. The artwork, the decor, the music, menu, drinks, even the servers outfits are all themed. Food was delicious! I had the pulled pork poutine and my wife had the Innkeepers Meal. Both excellent and generous portions. It was unlike any dining experience I've had and would love to go back there! Thanks again Arthur for an amazing service.

It is a charming medieval restaurant serving wild boar, duck and chicken on players! A four beer sampler goes well with the boar sausages and duck legs. It is a warm and friendly atmosphere with good service!

Medieval style food and ambiance, don't go there and expect silence. Very live ambiance with music and interaction with the crowd. We ordered the royal festin for 3 people, as you can see from the pictures we had plenty to eat. The sausages are awesome and the duck was very tasty. The staff speaks English. Great service. Recommended.

The whole experience was good, especially the taste of their dishes! The chairs are packed together so it feels kind of unorganized, and it’s too loud! You may loose your vocal cord while ordering:)

I recently booked La Chope Gobeline for a birthday party of over 20 people, and I have to say, the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. I made the reservation a week in advance through email, and they were incredibly responsive, answering all of my questions quickly, kindly, and with great efficiency. They even let us bring our own cake, which was a wonderful touch that made the celebration even more special. On the night of the party, everything went perfectly. All of our guests had an amazing time, and everyone left with smiles on their faces. The staff was incredibly helpful throughout the evening. Special shoutout to Lina, who was responsible for our group. She was simply awesome—energetic, kind, cool, and so accurate in managing her tables. Lina made sure that everything ran smoothly and that all of our needs were met, all with a friendly attitude that really made the night even better. The vibe at La Chope Gobeline is truly wonderful. If you’re part of a lively, energetic group that loves to have fun, this is the perfect spot for you. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s definitely a place that knows how to cater to a good time. Highly recommend this place for any large group celebration! Thanks again to the team at La Chope Gobeline for making the night so memorable.

This was a fun place to eat at. My brother and I don’t speak French fluently, but we tried. Our host spoke both English and French for us. He was patient with our attempts. The food was delicious (and not overly expensive). Our host was helpful and funny. He sang a song for us after our meal.
