The Key West airport is tiny and this bar is the only one after security. Although the outside does look a bit dated, it was nice to have a drink in the open air before we left Key West. We chose a picnic table in the shade, and there was also a large fan, making it very comfortable. The bar had a decent selection of craft beer on tap (yes at airport prices). The line did get long as more flights got closer to departure. Bartenders were great about answering questions about drink and menu options.
Nice staff, is there as soon as you walk through doors off the plane. A great welcome!!
The food was basic, but at least it wasn't burnt or undercooked. It also came out really quick.
Best bartender goes to...Im not sure because she hasn'tsent her contact info, but- best double-Kettle One Bloody on the island by far- and it was upon departure!! She knows who she is:("never been to Cincinnati"). I hope that changes soon! Cheers to you!
Good place to start or end your vacation. Try their key lime margaritas. Get you a drink as you come in to welcome yourself and get the last drink as you fly out. Good place. Definitely will come back here. Price is affordable. Thanks guys
Despite the length of the lines and the constant barrage of people, Laurie remained calm and kind. Also, she was flying solo but she never stopped being nice to each and every customer.
I This bar is near the gates where the planes leave, hence the name. From what I could see it's guite crowded and service is slow. I wouldn't chance it if you have only a few minutes till your flight but if you have a hour or so before your flight its a decent place to have a drink and some bar type food.
The nicest Lady in the world, Deborah, was serving both the bar and the food line on her own for a short while. She kept those lines moving all the while providing some genuine, down home hospitality. Great Cuban Sandwich and a tasty Bloody Mary.
