The overall location and vibes are awesome here! My sugar daughter and I just walked in by 7pm on this Friday night for dinner and we were lucky to get a table with ease with 2/3 full house already. Then more and more customers had to wait a long queue after 8pm to get a table! The fish and chips and salad as well as the two desserts we ordered tasted great! Definitely highly recommending to those who want to dine at Waterfront Gastown area!

Emma was the best server ever! She was so personable & made our day! We come to Local once a year when we come to town & she was the best server so far. Great people & definitely a place to stop in. See you again next year!

Food: Had the crying tiger fried chicken. It was so good: tasty, soft and tender. Service: The attendants were very friendly and helpful. Thanks to one of the attendants, she helped me take a picture. That was so amazing! I really appreciate! Atmosphere: Nice! Cool outdoor spot in Gas town. Would be surely returning anytime I visit Gas town!

Came for Monday lunch and sat outside on a beautiful day. A great place for people watching. The food was very good. The Brooklyn burger was excellent. They have a wide variety of drinks including those with no alcohol

Delicious food and atmosphere! Emma was an excellent server; she was super friendly and attentive. Chef Ferman killed it with the steak & eggs! Best steak and eggs around, make sure to visit during brunch so you can try it. Overall, perogies, trophy burger, and steak & eggs were top notch, and priced decently. Highly recommend you check this place out if you’re in the area.

Arrived and seated in a quant location. Cortney was an exceptional employee, helping us out with the menu. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The selection of beer awesome. Next time we’re in Canada, we’ll stop back by.

Local Public Eatery in Gastown was the first restaurant I visited during my summer trip to Vancouver, and it made a great first impression. The patio was open, which added a relaxed and vibrant feel to the experience. We were seated quickly, with less than a five-minute wait, and the space inside is surprisingly large, offering plenty of room and a lively atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dishes including the Local Burger, steak and fries, fish and chips, and fried chicken ramen. The Local Burger was the standout, juicy and flavourful, with melted American cheese, caramelized onions, tomato, shredded lettuce, and their secret house sauce. The fries were crispy and well-cooked. The steak and fries dish was also tasty, though the steak portion felt small compared to the generous serving of fries. It’s a 7oz sirloin with dijon peppercorn sauce, and while the flavour was excellent, the balance could be better. The fried chicken ramen had a nice kick to it, with miso sesame broth, charred corn, bean sprouts, a soft-boiled egg, and crispy fried chicken. It could’ve used a bit more broth, but the flavours were solid. The fish and chips featured a piece of sustainably-sourced cod in a light beer batter, served with house-made dill tartar sauce, fries, and creamy lemon slaw. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Service was friendly and efficient, and the washrooms were clean. Overall, it was a great spot to kick off my Vancouver food adventure, good food, good vibes, and a location that’s hard to beat.
